Walleye Reports Eastern Basin 2025

[Stillwater]

Out of the Catt today from 10am until noon. 2 man limit, 1 short and dropped 4. Beautiful day. 60 to 75 fow, 2 leadcore rods, 8 colors out with firetiger harnesses. 16 to 24 inches. Bite remains strong.

Fished out of the Cat today, went out at 7, back in by 9:30. Started at 55 fow, by the time we hit 70 fow had a 2 man limit, all on harnesses. Fish got bigger as we got deeper. Nice off shore breeze. Released 2 shorts, lost 1 at the back of the boat. Getting too comfortable with these easy limits.

Launched out of the Catt yesterday. Fished from 10 til 2 with my wife, young grandsons and their Dad. Had a memorable day netting 12 nice eyes and 4 perch. It was the boys first walleyes and Erie trip. 60 to 75 fow, on harnesses. Very muggy and warm so we mixed it up with some fun bow cruising to cool off.

Weather was perfect yesterday doubles triples quads fantastic fishing for us as well. 4 man limit 8:30am to 11:15am 65 to 75 fow spoons,harnesses and worm burner's. Great day and memories with my boys and neighbor 2nd season for us on Erie it keeps getting better 🇺🇲

Good and bad day out of Dunkirk
Boxed [emoji[emoji6]] in hours. [emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]-[emoji[emoji6][emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]ft. Lots of marks. Lost my net (Black/Red) with rubber netting after fish. Lined the remaining fish without a problem. If anyone finds the net floating around it’s worth $[emoji6][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] to get it back. [emoji[emoji6]][emoji6]-[emoji[emoji6]]-[emoji[emoji6]][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]].

I have no idea why the code is there. Maybe because I put my phone number on the post. Anyway fished out of Dunkirk and boxed eighteen in two hours. Eighty to Ninety feet of water. Lost my net It was a black and red expandable with rubber netting. Will give a reward if someone finds it.

GOT 15 IN 1 HR 15 MIN TODAY OUT OF THE SBH 60FT! THREW 3 BACK.

After several similar trips fishing offshore and east of the Catt. Decided to head west, 73 drifting into 65. It started hot and heavy right off the bat. Nonstop fast action, 5oz bb not even letting it hit bottom once as the fish were suspended about 45-50 down. Green harnesses and even a few sticks sent out there today. 18 in less then 45 minutes. Kept our 12 and headed back early to fillet and have a fire.

Tiller, did you drift with the wind or motor assisted? Sounds like a great day. I love rod in had bottom bouncing.

I always use the trolling for steering and a little speed boost. Yesterday was 4 lines I don’t even bother with planers when the action is that good. Speed 1.5-1.8

I HAVEN'T FISHED THE SBH IN TW0 YEARS LONG HAUL TO 60 FT FROM SBH CLOSER TO STURGEON PONT. I'VE  SEEN A FEW YEARS OUT OF 12 THAT THEY STAYED THERE ALL YEAR LONG BUT THAT'S EXCEPTION NOT THE RULE. IF ANYONE WANTS TO KNOW THE BUFFALO SKYWAY WILL NEVER OPEN AGAIN IT'S BEING DEMOLISHED AND WILL BE MADE INTO A PARK THAT'S WHAT I READ INLINE TODAY!

Back to yesterday’s spot in the low 70s. Set up at 7pm had 12; 15-16” in less then 40 minutes. Fished till about 845 total was 23 landed with a good mix of size classes.  Cranks on bb’s outdid harnesses today. 

[Bottom Bouncer]

Fished Barcelona tonight.  Made the mistake of assuming with the warm water the fish would be deeper.  Started at 90 fow and trolled in. Got a couple in deeper water but once we got to about 70 we were in them and it was a quick two man limit.   All worm harnesses on lead, down riggers and bottom bouncer.  All caught fish but they favored the downriggers tonight.

I use the bottom bouncers with the wire. I’ll tie my harnesses 6-8’ off that. And if I’m using cranks or spoons I’ll tie a liter off the bouncer about the same length. As long as you can go with still being able to net fish
