The site plan indicates this site will be the size of 4 CFL football fields and 7 meters high. This would hold the contents of 400 of the largest railway coal cars.

There are many concerns including the location being .5 km from the Sydenham River and at its base 32 meters higher in elevation than the surface of the river. Time, economics and logistics will result in this product being spread on farmland closest to the site in the Thames River watershed and the Sydenham River watershed. These farmland are mainly cash crop lands and susceptible to erosion which has been going on for years, year after year unchecked and unregulated. Its why these ri ers which once ran clear now run chocolate brow. Here is the risk. In addition to the crop production nutrients and the herbicide, fungicide and insecticide chemicals these eroded soils are now carrying biological soil amendments which we know very little about. Now add the soup of heavy metals and chemicals from industry, pharmaceutical waste, medical clinic and veterinary waste, laundromats, car washes and our own stuff going down drains and toilets.

The product itself is tested and approved as a soil amendment when it comes out of the processor. It is basically inert or dormant. When it is exposed to the atmosphere it starts to come alive, fungus, bacteria, parasites and viruses begin to evolve in ways we can not predict. Now combine these biologicals, chemicals and metals with the farm agricultural products and we know this is a toxic soup that can only result in an ecological and human health disaster.

Please adf your influence and voices to the opposition to this storage site plan.

There are 1000's of engineered and licensed landfill sites across the province. These are hazardous waste containment sites and could easily be used for biosolids storage. This would spread out the risk over a larger area and reduce the concentration of application volume in the Thames and Sydenham watershed. The side benefit of your support may be forcing our governments at every levell to finally BS Region 4b.pdfBS Region 1.pdfput the brakes on farm land soil erosion.
