  2. Pike winds turn the walleyes on. Surface waves increased the dissolved oxygen and the fish metabolism is increased resulting in increased digestion with the feed rates turning on.   15. Water temperatures are now like August this year without ice. Start at 85 foot from the Catt to the PA line. Any where from 65 to deeper should. Find big walleye feeding on smelt schools, small perch and other good sized feeders. Going too deep you may run into 0 oxygen waters with No Fish at all. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United

  17. If the surface temperature is above 70 degrees, start looking in 65 foot of water.
  18. The hot weather has warmed Lake Erie up earlier than usual. Deeper water show fish top and bottom now. The bottom schools are not all perch and could be smelt. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  19. Yesterday off Point Breeze, no hits near shore. Went out to 61 to 75 foot is water, plenty of fish out there on the screen. Only landed two, 24 and 25 inches . About the same as other reports, cameo in for minnows and only one perch although a lot of fish on the bottom of the screen. One walleye on a board with a stickbait.   21. NE and E winds blew all the warm surface water back to Ohio. Cold water upwelling replaced it. Some day the SW winds will return the warmer water again and fishing will return. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  22. After last nights blow and continuing now, the eastern basin surface water temperature reached 65 degrees F. this morning. Usually this does not happen to July 1st but it happened early now.
  23. Jets keep the walleye lures up in the target zone during slow downs, turns, stops while trolling. They are good to go to while the surface water temperature is below 65 degrees F.
