  1. If you trespass into Canadian waters be prepared to take a Virus test that your health insurance does not pay. Have a couple thousand cash handy.
  2. Yesterday searching for perch with my graphs we went out to 75 foot and back into 50 foot of water with no good hooks on the bottom grouped together. We ended up in 55 foot off the west side of the Catt and found a couple with a few boats nearby. But the new neighbor on his first trip out took 24 perch up to 14 inches 60 foot off the Catt. Six gallons of gasoline should have used in the lawnmower for us. The walleyes were suspended from 30 to 50 foot off the bottom just about every where.
  3. From a late report this morning five guys fishing perch in 71 foot of water off the Catt came in with 250 perch.
  4. Rigging up three lines for perch fishing is a waste of bait and results in a catch loss. One rod held in your hand takes more fish each trip since you are not rebaiting and resetting extra lines where you missed the bite.
  5. Small hooks on the bottom are usually perch. During high water temperatures they may be ten foot solid on the bottom. Then you are in perch heaven.

  7. Lake Erie Marine Weather, search this site out.
  8. An Oceanographer said the installation of a marina on a point suffers from siltation problems. A better design is the Crystal Beach Ramps across the lake. Google Earth satellite view for the Canadian design. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  9. Turn north at the red light and go over the RR tracks. Three ramps there, the State Ramp near the mouth is good plus Vets and Seniors get a break some days. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  10. Do not pay attention to the “gillie galloo” TV weather people. Search out the Lake Erie Marine Weather report and get an area weather report. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  11. Things are still not changing. Ten months of open lake this year and Sturgeon Point finally opened after walleye season opened. Then it was blocked by a sand bar again. A sixty mile round trip to the Cattaraugus Creek was the nearest lake access from the Southtown areas. But the registration moneys, sales taxes and fuel taxes disappear in the “Black Holes” called Albany, “County Hall” and the entitled. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  12. With the virus situation if you stray into Canadian waters, expect to take medical tests at a cost of over a thousand dollars. They do not mess around now.
  13. The same situation happened last year and with an ice free winter ten months of boating access was lost.

  18. 3 boats out this AM, 2 boats had 5&4 walleyes off Center Road. 1 boat to Sturgeon Point area, 0. Bluebird sky today. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  19. Catt Creek has been good to the west off Center Road. Minimum starting depth is 65 feet also using 8&9 colors leadcore. Riggers down on the bottom with popping the line free to flutter up through higher marked fish also is producing. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  20. An American family with property in Ontario was allowed to their cottage after agreeing to a 14 day quarantine. They are checked by cell phone calls and visits by OPP officers regularly. Fines are in the thousands of dollars. They are not allowed to swim in their lake. Really not an enjoyable stay. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  21. A Canadian won the Bassmaster Contest on the St. Lawrence River last week????
  22. Bottom waters out real deep could have oxygen depleted water due to algae and fish decay. It is called a “dead zone”. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  23. All dipseys should be set at three to send them out farther from your boats track. That is where the fish flee when you pass over them with your boat. You can set them out a lot of deeper and farther on that setting. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  24. Shootout Winner reported shot down, second place took the money. The captain failed to report at 7:00PM meeting start time. Bar entry camera showed his arrival at 7:15PM, that is the story I heard. Big, BIG Bucks lost.
