  2. With fourteen years experience as a commercial fisherman, mainly for walleye, our nets were never set on the bottom as too many non target fish were involved. All our nets were set about ten feet from the surface to avoid outboard and boat tangles with surface buoys. The main target of walleyes were smelt, perch and small walleyes for their feed. Lures for like these fish work best for suspended walleyes. Walleyes are everywhere inthe lake where water temperatures are not too high. Also disolved oxygem results are low on the bottom during mid summer heat.
  3. Just got back from a night trip. NOAA called for 1 foot during day Friday settling to under 1 foot over night. At dusk there were 2-3 for rollers, within an hour it built to 3-4s. We stayed inside as I have a tiller and my guest did not have full rain gear. Those that were on the lake averaged 2-4 from what I heard.
  4. I went out solo yesterday early. Managed four keepers and lost two others before wind got too strong, and ran out of worms! Caught a bunch of perch, white perch, and sheep head which is why I ran out of worms.
  5. Almost went out last night after looking at the wind finder, glad I did not go. Thanks for the update

  8. We tried to go last night freaking weather man screwed us big time it was supposed to be one foot or less light winds out of the North... However reality was 3 foot waves wind ripping out of the straight West. We mark some by the windmills we made it down to Hamburg make one Is pass and the crew turnd green. 11. Any news? Is the walleye bite still on? Just finally got some free time from work so I can go out but don't want to waste my time if its dead out there. I would be going out of the small boat harbor.
  12. Presume the opening to the lake is shallow, just trim up and should be ok??
  13. Walleyes suspend from Buffalo to the Pennsylvania border water. With side planers they scatter from your boat to lures away from your boat. Lead core line or snap weights will bring your lures such as stick baits to their preferred depths.
  14. Not looking for spots, just the depths i should be searching. I am guessing 30 to 50fow. Any general direction would be appreciated.
  15. Heading to Small Boat Harbor in Buffalo this weekend for the first time ever to troll for some eyes. Anyone have a starting depth? Bringing boards and 2 to 7 color lead cores. I have both a variety of sticks both shallow and deep and harnesses. Thanks for any feedback.
  16. Closer are Cattarugus Creek, Hanover , Town Ramp and Seneca Reservation Mrs. Whites Ramp and docks.
  17. Just wondering what everyone’s best/ favorite choice of bait/ lire was? Spoon, stick bait work harness? Thanks for sharing. Also, a good time for me to spend some money on things in do not have in my arsenal. Thanks and tight lines. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United

  21. Attended NYSDEC Musky Inland Stocking Meeting at Chautauqua Fishing Assoc. Celeron,NY last night. They will move trap nets to different lakes to collect eggs and mix gentics. For Chautauqua Lake Muskies caught in trap netting are now being tagged with identification readable tag. This will identify if milked of eggs or sperm past year and for genetic purpose pass on those. Will give much info on Red Spot,Growth and Any Location Change.NYSDEC is looking for iformation of fin clips ,size & number of muskies caught from all musky tournaments. There was talk of holding over winter a couple thousand muskies in medal tanks in the hatchery for 12 to 14" growth before stocking, but this would be costly, not approved under discusion and would need a grant from Muskies Inc..
