The yellow perch has done a good job avoiding me this year. This time I didn't the have perch gear ready to go and I was bass fishing. I was seeing some of the bigger ones moving into the back bays of Lake Erie last Saturday. The one looked like a giant. Might be time to start thinking about ice fishing. Barcelona is still on 🔥. I don't think I've ever fished walleye this late in the year, but it's just like it was all summer and fall. Quick two man limit in 85-90 fow with worm harnesses fished off leadcore, downriggers and a bottom bouncer.

Fished yesterday, launching from town of Hanover 11:30 AM. Great reports from boats coming off the lake. Started at 75 fow ended in 83 fow with 10. Not as good as some said but good for us. Best depth 80 to 83 divers out 150 with harnesses. One rigger at 60. Bright colors better. Surface temp 65, 55 degrees down 65 ft. Perfect flat lake to start, finished about 4PM with some white caps.

Fished Saturday 10/4 out of Catt. 10am until 2:30 pm. 2 rods with 8 oz bouncers and harnesses. 80 to 85 fow. Slow at first then steady pick then slowed again when wind from NW started. Finished with our 2 man limit. Nice day and may be last outing for 2025. Great season full of memories.

The day started off as the previous 2. Hours in and miles covered with 0 to show. Starting to question why I’m even trying. Ripping up new spots and areas I normally don’t look them, At about hour 7 when almost all hope was lost, coming off of a hump into a sand flat was a mega and they weren’t moving. Could easily have gotten my 50 but called it quits at 25. Landed 4 bonus eyes keeping 1 of them. They needed a little encouragement with a perch eye tipped on a buckshot spoon.

Off the Catt today, 85fow NW out of shoot, 3 man limit in short order. Riggers at 46 n 60, mag dipsys at 110, reg dipsys at 165 all with sticks. Also 5 color n 6 color lead cores of sm boards took fish. Challengers, Rogues, n Pirates all went including some Thunderstick Jrs. Colors didn't matter but purple n silver and blk/silver with orange belly were kings.

I talked to the Dec survey kids both days and they said no one is catching any perch and quite a few guys are targeting them. Things could change any day now tho. Ill be back at it again tomorrow trying off Hamburg

That's discouraging. I was hoping to get some this fall. I wonder if some DEC guy knows what's going on there.

Over the last two days, I’ve put in over 16 hours, from silver creek to east of sp, depths from 40-78fow. For a total of 0 perch. Haven’t even bothered to drop a line anywhere. I’ve never seen this before
