  1. The Polar Kraft is my favorite, The starcraft I owned was a 170 superfisherman, it was a little too narrow. I would love another Boston Whaler but I don't have that kind of cash just laying around. (50k+ for one like mine) Here a a few pics of what I did as far as the mounts, Down rigger, rod holder tracks, cross over brace for trolling, and the bumper holders. I have a few more but no pics yet.(anntena mount, and trolling motor stablizer for trailering)
  2. Meangreencj7 I just happen to notice that I never introduced my self properly on here, so here goes. I try to fish at least once a week from April to November and I take two to three week long trips per year, doesn't mater what. I fish for Bass, Walleye, Perch, salmon, Northerns, etc.... pretty much anything I can catch, but mainly the first 4. I fish Ontario, Erie, Conesus, Pymatuning, Chautauqua, and Canandaigua. are the main lakes that I fish. I Troll, Cast, Drift, and poke around docks. I have owned 7 different boats (hopfully I am on my last, Probably not :-)) Boston Whaler, 2 grumans, Imperial, bass tracker, starcraft, and then a Polar Kraft. I know the ins and outs of most of these because The first 6 were torn down and rebuilt at some time That I owned them. (the Polar Kraft was new when I bought it, (of course that dosen't mean I haven't taken it apart...at least a little) The Polar Kraft that I own now is a 2015 frontier 179 WT, it has a 115 yamaha 4 stroke motor (best motor I have had by far), a 9.8 tohatsu 4 stroke kicker and a minn kota ulterra 24 volt (best trolling motor I have ever had). the boat is 17 ft 11 in long and 99 in wide. I have done a lot of mods on it already and have more planned as I go. It has a lorance chirp 7, a hummingbird helix 7, and a fish hawk x4 for electronics. I have built all of my own mounts for my rod holders, downriggers, and accessories that mount to the rail system that is on the boat (saved myself at least a $1000 doing it all my self). I am always looking for new places to fish and new people to talk to, That's why I like getting on to the LEU and the LOU web sites, to see what everyone else is doing. And if i can't get out, I can vicariously live through your stories and trips, and maybe learn a few things along the way.
  3. true that, i keep waiting for someone to do my job at work but it never happens......or even do there job,
  4. did not catch anything but killer dust bunnies, there vicious , almost lost a finger unhooking them, next time I will bring a dust buster. :-D
  5. I can just see my first meeting for fishermens AA.... hi my name is Meangreen, its been two months since I fished, I found my self in the garage in the boat making putt putt noise and trying to figure out what type of tolling spread I need to start with today, ...... then my wife yelled at me and I had to come back to reality... it sucks by the way.

  7. Would love to own a baron, but i have not hit the lottery yet and can't justify having a boat that cost that much. but i still want one!
  8. where is this at, can you give me a address?
  9. my dads having a fit, no ice fishing for him, but he did get out on to pymatuning a few weeks ago with his boat, may be able to do that again this week? maybe.
  10. green, orange, chartruse, and any color combination of the three, fire tiger is also good.
  11. they make chinooks in rochester on lee road, if you are in the area you can just stop and buy them there and save on shipping, if you do go just go up to the front desk and ask about them (its in a mechanical assably plant and looks like you are in the wrong place(no signs for the divers), when I went i was sure I was in the wrong place)
  12. welcome aboard, I work weekends so if you want give me a pm and we could see about going out during the week. I usally fish out of barcelona but would like to find somewhere closer (i live in rochester)
  13. I just use the snack bags form walmart, there like 4 dollars for 100 bags
  14. I also try to get as much overtime as I can so that I can get some new equipment just before spring, it seams to work well for me, this year I was able to get a new set of tolora trolling rods and reels, some new downrigger balls and a fish hawk x4, still have a few things on my wish list but overtime has dried up for now.
  15. i still do it the old fashion way, wind then up after they dry and place them in a plastic bag. I do the same thing with my flies for salmon.
  16. I like dipsys, for walleyes I use Chinook divers they dive great and they are thin and weight almost nothing, can defnatly feel the fish after it trips, you can get them on ebay.
  17. I tie my own harnesses and I do not put swivel on them, so i use a snap swivel.
  18. I use a plastic coffee canister, I get out 5-6 worms and throw them in there with it about half full of water, when i run out I pull out more. only have to wash my hands every once in a while. If the fish are biting well I will put more in at a time.
  19. I bought a couple of downrigger poles from ricks sporting goods, always get a good price from him at the show ($80 rods for $50) can't beat that. Unfortunately it looks like my last show, driving 70+ miles taking a full day off work (i work weekends) and then they canceled the best part of the show, the swap meet!!!!! I will have to see about attending some of the losta swap meets this year (even more days off work......oh well) My impression of the show is that it is now mostly vendors, some of which don't sell anything there, and seminars. I go to the show with my daughter every year and she was upset there was no fishing pond, no rifle range, nothing for the kids to do ( even thought they say it is a famliy event?????)
