  1. I fished and learned about the mouth of Eighteen Mile Creek sixty five years ago. The Ramsey estate owned most of Creek bottom area along with a major bank here in Erie County. There was a concrete building and a concrete winch base on the west side of the creek. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  2. The money can come from your boat registrations and sales taxes you pay. Nothing has happened here for a long time but we need something now. The state taxing agencies and boat registrations will give you the numbers. Our local legislators will know more if you contact them with our concerns. We have lost Woodlawn Beach for boat launching. Hamburg town boat ramp silts up quickly every year. Sturgeon Point Harbor is falling apart and needs a lot of annual dredging. Driving to the Cattaraugus Creek is time consuming also. 3. Idlewood Yacht Club. Steam yachts from Buffalo serviced the estates along the shoreline since the lakeshore road had no bridge over the creek. Marine travel was the most convenient way rather than a horse drawn buggy over mud roads. At the turn of the century Buffalo was the second richest city in the USA. The Kellog Estate and Grandview Bay also had docks. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  4. Spending money on this dock operations here is futile. It is a money pit. The dredging contributes to the breakwater failure. Consider a marina at Eighteen Mile Creek where a yacht club existed years ago. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  5. Shallow divers like bass lures have greater lure action than deep divers. That is why they produce more. Good tip there from “times two “. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United

  13. Just put additional ramps on the far side of structure to alleviate congestion at busy times. No curbs, just flat paving would be fine. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  14. Sallie’s were yellow, black, and other colored kind tailed flies that were added to spinners with a night crawler worm to catch walleyes. They were very effective along with flat fish lures over seventy years ago. They still work today slow trolling on the bottom. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  15. We have to determine where the sales tax from buying our boat, motor and trailers go. Then where our registration fees for our boats and trailers go. Also the sales taxes for our boat and fishing purchase go . Put them all together and there is millions of dollars annually and our not returned to the trailer boat community and businesses. Do not accept the politician who says there are no funds available to construct new ramps. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  16. The 62 foot contour showed plenty of bottom holding fish and the 80 foot depths show plenty of suspended fish Friday, Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United

  20. Hit the bottom and crank it up to what you need. The blow back will be less with less line out. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  21. My twenty pound braid works deeper also. For kings, thirty pound test is best, saves on lures. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  22. The reason the Battle Contest is limited to to twelve boats is the facility at Point Breeze is fully packed with participants and their families for the fish fry and celebration. Also a lot of “fish stories” are passed around. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  23. They are trap nets, not gill nets. The fish stay alive in them usually. They target yellow perch that are bottom oriented. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  24. The Ontario record walleye was taken from Thompson Hole in 1943. It weighed 23 pounds. Caught by a shore fisherman and witnessed by many. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United
  25. I added a snap swivel to the rear release and if both releases come free the snap on the allows the board to slide down to the lure. There is also a red release which has a “tit” on it to hold the line on the board. Made by “off shore”.This saves a lot of time chasing around for lost boards.
