  1. This website has webcams listed for all the great lakes. http://www.lakerart.com/links.htm
  2. There is still too much ice on Lake Erie, the only ramp I've used is the one at Port Colborne, it can handly 4 boats at a time, two launching and two returning. It also has a large parking lot.
  3. I had a place on Rice Lake for 17 years, sold it 3 years ago and started fishing Erie. Stick around, you'll learn a lot just reading the posts, many members run charter boats and know what they're talking about. I usually use worm harnesses, I've copied the patterns and blades many members post photo of with success. Port Maitland is one of the best places to fish on the north side of eastern Lake Erie. I keep my boat at Sugarloaf Marina in Port Colborne, I live in Fonthill, it's easier to drive to the marina, park my car get in my boat and go fishing, than hitch it to my car, drive 21 kilometers to the boat launch etc. etc. etc. The downside my boat is a mess when I take it out of the water in October.
  4. I fish out of Port Colborne, both Port Dover and Port Maitland are excellent areas for walleye. One of the best features of this forum is that when you ask a question you always get a reply from knowledgeable fishermen. There is no such thing as a stupid question. I started using Chamberlain releases based on the recommendations of several members and never regretted it.
  5. I switched to Chamberlain last year, I've never regretted it.
  6. I'm waiting for Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday before ordering anything. It clearly states on their website they ship to Canada.
  7. I was chosen for the Lake Erie United Giveaway this month, thank you.
  8. The weather buoy 45142 is reporting the waves of 12.5 feet high. .
  9. I only started fishing Lake Erie using a downrigger last summer. I use a Chamberlain Release set up so the smallest walleye would set it off. I have caught quite a few walleye by releasing my crawler harness from the cannonball and slowly retrieving it, stopping for 5 or 6 seconds and then continuing while my boat is travelling at 1.8 mph. Yesterday I took my neighbor fishing for several hours and were successful using this technique. I usually run my crawler harness 50 - 75 feet behind the cannonball. Has anyone else tried this?
  10. Lots of member of this forum fish Port Maitland, Port Colborne and Crystal Beach. I'm Botchegalup on Niagara Fishing. You should do well in 60 feet of water
  11. Welcome, I too fish the Canadian side out of Sugarloaf Marina, Port Colborne.
  12. Here is an accurate weather site. https://www.windy.com/?43.000,-79.266,5
  13. I'm also a Shellback, crossed the line four times. I have a 16.5 boat and quite a bit of experience on the water, I regularly go out 10 - 12 miles or more out of Port Colborne. You're pushing it on Lake Erie once the wind reaches 18 mph.
  14. I've never gone out at night, how late do you fishing into the evening? What water depth and are the fish near the surface.
  15. Here's the article. Great Lakes Temperature
  16. Check out the 'About Us' page, it's all about the Home Depot, this website was probably created by scam artists that don't understand English or too lazy to use Google Translate. Its owner country is the Czech Republic, the website is located in the US. The website states it supports SSL; however, the site's security status in my browser address isn't preceded by a lock symbol/Secure and does not have https. There is also no company e-mail address shown or telephone number.
  17. Welcome to Lake Erie United, I'm also from Ontario and fish the same areas you do. My boat is docked at Sugarloaf Marina.
  18. Caught a 5 or 6 pounder this afternoon in 70 feet of water south of Nickle Beach, Port Colborne. I was fishing 6 feet off the bottom using watermelon colored crawler harness with green and black beads. This was the first walleye I caught using a Chamberlain Release. The line released and set the hooks the moment the walleye hit the crawler harness.
