I launched next to you. Didn’t know it was you. Was wondering what you were doing with all the fancy gear. Now I know
. For lakers we usually use just a silver spoon with green or chartreuse stripe. Sent from my iPad using Lake Erie United Mobile App
Nice! Did you launch next to us the first time or second time, haha. Had to pull the boat the first time after the motor wouldn’t tilt down, to figure out the trim tilt issue.
I had never specifically targeted Lakers so I figured run the old Lake O gear and we’d be good. Hahaha. Live and learn! Was a great day to be out there.

Got out this morning, had some trouble with my trim tilt but replaced the relays and headed out finally around 11a. Headed to 100fow down by Dunkirk in search of some lakers ran flasher flies on the bottom and well as spin Dr’s and spoons. On both downriggers and dipsies. Never took a laker, but we did hit some walleye in 90fow on the spoons. Great screen of walleye in 90fow. Been along time since I fished for lakers. Tried running some copper rods as well, but all we did was make a tangled mess with the dipsies! Overall a great day to be out there, glad we worked through our troubles and kept at it. Finally a real nice day out there. Anyone target lakers? Any tips?

Whatever the port colborne buoy shows for wave height double it for accuracy. The better one that is accurate off Dunkirk is https://glbuoys.glos.us/ESF3

Nice. Didn’t know the Dunkirk buoy gave wave height as well. Thanks.

1 pair set up with tattle flags (set up so flag up indicates fish on), offshore releases on rear (flag orientation can be changed, if you prefer flag down to indicate fish on)
2 additional starboard boards, no flags on missing both releases one with front release only
$70 for all four, located near Buffalo

Got out after work for a bit today. Finally got my brother out and on the meat. We didn’t get out to 65fow where I wanted to be but set up on 52-56 with some decent marks on the bottom. Boated six in an hour and a half, ran two down riggers and a bottom bouncer. Worm harnesses were the ticket.

Has been so windy probably not a lot to report

Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United Mobile App
Very true, this wind is getting old. I have read from the Charter guys that The Buffalo bite has cooled so SP, Catt and Barcelona have all been good. Still waiting for a weekend day without 4ftrs. Maybe Sunday will be my day?!?
Also if you have Facebook, check out WNY Walleye Fishing. There have been good reports and lots of guys reporting the conditions.

I just ordered the opti tackle ones you linked to but it looks like they go flag down with strike

Garrymny - They come set up that way, I believe I just drilled a 1/8 hole on the flag and move the spring and rod there to make them work the other way. Let me know if you need a picture or more info next time at the big I’ll try and get a picture.

Rough one out there today. Beat our way from SP to 62FOW and let the seas push us back. Managed 2 walleye and lost one of those at the boat in the waves. Both fish on harnesses one on a five color other on a bottom bouncer.

Is there anywhere local to the Buffalo area that offers classes for a six pack captains license? Preferably somewhere that accepts post 9/11 GI Bill. Any info would be greatly appreciated, I value your opinions more than the google box’s results. Thanks

Never went out today, the beach closures and wind kept me away. Kiddos wanted to hit the beach and do a little tubing.

Stopped by to check out the lake today. Lake looked fishable but there were some good sized waves out there. Hoping she lays down for tomorrow

Launched out of SP around 6:30p, went down to the Silver Creek wind mill and trolled back to Sturgeon. We played around with some spoons and a few different techniques. The tried and true took fish, harnesses off leadcore were hot. Spoons on downriggers took a few. Great fireworks shows all up the coast. Beautiful night out there, had the lake to ourselves.
