  1. SP has approximately 217 slips estimated annual revenue from these slips at approximately $1200 average give you over $260,000 annually. This does not include rent from Connors Hot Dog Stand, daily launch fees, proceeds from worm/ice sales etc. so subtract 90k (dredging) from 260k which leaves $170k again not including rent etc. unless the guys working the launch are really raking it in. This seems like a profitable venture to me.......

  2. I love them all. I had a great experience at the 444 in port colbourne. Well run tourney and lots of fun. Plus the fishing is different then I’m used to and I got to learn a lot.
Sunset is cool because of the money and venue. Tourney got big fast. Don is working on making improvements on various things for next year.
Rob Ray tourney have a good payout little more relaxed but a lot of fun.
Jim and Diane on the Innovative Outdoors Tourney Run a great tourney and it’s got bigger every year. Payouts are good and they are on the ball.
I fish the Con Club and it’s a great run tourney. I just don’t prefer a big fish format. (Or maybe I’m bitter because we led for two days and blew it on day three for a third place finish)
I’ll be honest I really miss the two day 5 or 6 fish tourney.  So much strategy after day one and putting together a 6 fish box two days in a row is hard.

  3. I’ve been watching this from afar but no more-Don’t let this thread end glfisherman until you get some response- I really enjoyed this tournament but now I have a bad taste in my mouth- What total BS- captain Dons silence disappoints me greatly. I wonder who put YOUR graph in their boat....? I wish you the best gl. I can’t believe no other participants have expressed their 2cents. This should bother everyone who fished it- Friends of Don or not!

Don responded to me regarding the results not being posted, I in turn responded but they have not been posted, nor was there a follow up response. There is something very wrong with what went on at this tournament this year. I find it hard to believe that sponsors support or endorse a venue that treats its anglers this way. Not to mention the County Executive was at the Captains meeting. This sure doesn’t reflect well on him either. If I had to guess I bet this doesn’t start nor end with glfishermans fishfinder. What a joke............. IMG_4597.thumb.JPG.9f9b327b2ed1be5ecc0281608a0fe8f0.JPGIMG_4598.thumb.JPG.f87b9e8ad6a5788e327313ae7aa12825.JPG

  4. i can adjust to .1/.15 mph but  do have a pretty big boat. mines a 2452 bay liner hard top. top speed with kicker is 7.5 mph.
im guessing I can adjust about 50/75 rpm increments.  im thinking of maybe getting a smart troll this winter just for the hunt mode option.

    Sweet. Thanks for the info.

  5. I have a cannon uni-troll hp and a cannon marlin hp electric downrigger for sale. They could use some TLC. Extendable booms, no rod holders or terminators. I connected the Marlin to a car battery and it DID NOT function. I don’t have the time or desire to mess with them. Figure someone can rehab them or use them for parts. Looking for 125 for the pair/best offer/trade. Located in Orchard Park NY. 6. I don't have any "bottom bouncers", but I'm going to get some because I'd like to try it. I did Goggle it like you suggested and watched a lot of videos on it. Most of them were trolling, but I did see a couple where they were drifting. Your explanation of how you do it was well written, and makes me want to try it just to feel that bite. I spent alot of money on down riggers & equipment, and you probably catch just as many fish. Thanks for the information and an excellent article.

You can also set up a sinker off a three way swivel. Then your harness or stick off the other just give about a foot or two of line from the sinker to the swivel
