  1. This time of year the eyes are in shallow day or night.  Troll in 9'-20' FOW at night. Closer to shore works well.  Stick baits on the surface.  during the day they are a little more skittish.  Casting for them as you drift works.  You will catch a ton of bass but that is lots of fun as well.  As the water warms, the eyes go deeper.  Find the bait and you find the fish.  Good luck with the new boat. I hope you catch a ton on it.

    This!

  2. I stopped yesterday and there were 5 trailers in the parking lot. I watched one guy go out. He had a small boat and motor trimmed all the way up. So it is possible to get out but boat size will make a difference. None of the trailers Looked like big boats.

  3. I use an Adventure Marine fixed kicker bracket on my Proline with a Stainless Marine bracket.  I just tilt kicker when not in use.  For steering I have brackets on hydraulic steering and kicker for quick connect rod.  Pretty common on west coast to run kickers this style.  I've had people comment that the setup looked like a factory option.

Awesome thank you. Are you running power trim or are you able to reach to drop it down by hand?

  4. All- Looking to see who has an outboard boat with the outboard on a Armstrong or similar bracket and how you set up your kicker. I’m thinking I will go with a solid kicker bracket (the adjustable scare me a bit). However I’m not sure unless I get a power trim tilt kicker how I will lower it. I was thinking of tying the steering together upfront with a panther style steering rod or tying right into the steering tube. Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

  5. Fished 8:30-noon today took 12, 1 dink and lost three at the boat. Ran exclusively spoons. NBK was the best spoon followed closely by gold with orange ladders. Biggest was 8-9lbs. 80fow off Sunset bay, 1.8mph going into the waves 2.0mph SOG, with them behind us. Took 4-5 silvers as well. Went looking for staging steelhead near the mouth didn't see much. Anybody target or been catching them?

Forgot to mention anytime we ran slower the bite dropped right off.
