  1. Shot in the dark but figured I’d ask. Anyone have a gear assembly for an older Cannon Mag10 (photo attached) the plastic gear is driven off the worm gear in the motor. This gear assembly mounts to the motor and then both are mounted to studs and secured. Min is stripped out and slips preventing the motor from raising the ball. Thanks and tight lines!

  2. Fished the Catt yesterday on Saturday from 7- 12, I agree with ciscokid, fished 74 ft - 80 ft, picked up 9 and last a few others,  fish were picky, a flurry of hits and then shut down for a while,  dipseys out 170 - 180, riggers a 53 and 56 (picked ip most of our fish on harnesses) and a 10 core which picked up 2.  trolling speed was 1.8- 2.2.  Fishing at or just above the thermocline seemed best.  Also picked up 3 healthy silver bass., walleye caught were healthy and appeared to be eating well.

We were out there as well, and echo the above. The armada was impressive. We were slightly deeper at 78-83fow. Varied speed from 1.4-2.2. Some fish liked it fast some slow. Very picky. Shut down for us around noon, then we picked up some short before returning to harbor at 3:30. We did best on green and watermelon colors. Popping out rigger lines gave us several fish. Had a few on dipseys and spoons back 125-150. Almost all of our fish were 22-24” and 3.5-4lbs. Fun hot day! Tight lines

  3. Fished a couple hours today straight out of the cat in 80-89FOW. Took two lost two others. Trying to refine our dipsey program. We only ran riggers with spoons and dipsey’s with spoons we fished 1.9-2.4mph. Screen was good most of the time. Packed up and ran out to 100 off Dunkirk to take a look and see if we could pick up a few Lakers. Nothing doing and we were out of time so we headed in. Tight lines

  4. Went out Sunday with the kids. We launched around 9a and returned a little after 2p. We started around a mile or two west of the Catt in 52FOW and trolled east until evangola then spun around and trolled back. We varied speed from 1.5-2.2, we ran riggers near bottom, 5 colors and 3 colors. All fish came on 5 colors with worm harnesses. Watermelon pattern harness took the biggest a 7.29 @ 27 1/2” with a lamprey attached! We tried 42-60fow never finding anything to stay on. We caught on harnesses purple black, purple pink, and copper pink. Kids reeled everything in, were all smiles and caught a mixed bag of eyes, sheepshead, white bass, and a smallie. Great Father’s Day!

  5. Nice! How do you like your Proline? I've been shopping around for a boat and trying to weigh out all of my options.  For budget reasons I'm probably going to need to get something used, how has yours held up?

I love it. I too bought used. Have had it three seasons. Handles like a much bigger boat is a 231WA, has the outboard on a bracket. Handles the waves great, lots of room to walk around. Short on seating though, I have a couple bean bags to use for the kids. Cabin is nice, little sink, I tossed out the stove. Porta potty. Very happy!

  6. 6/17

Started fishing a little before 6a called it around 2p. Put 5 in the box, 1 perch, dropped two at the boat and another 2 on the way to the boat. Waves picked up after 11 or so. Biggest was 24”. One of the drops may have been close to size for the derby but we’ll never know. 42fow held a ton of fish early, then 50-52 seemed best after noon. No pattern other than worm harnesses took fish, sticks only took one. Lots of traffic out there, everyone seemed to be playing nice.

Tight lines everyone. Hope you all have a great Father’s Day. I’m going to try and get my daughters on the youth board Sunday, if I’m lucky maybe I’ll even reel one in!!

  7. TO GREG SHOULD HAVE BEEN SPELLED SLOW DEATH.  JUSTFISHN GET MOST OF MY EYES TROLLING WITH THE WIND MYSELF OVER THE YEARS. I'VE FOUND EXCEPT ON CALM DAYS EASIER TO TROLL WITH THE WIND ANYHOW. THE KID IS TURNING 75 IN JULY HAS BEEN FISHN EYES FOR 65 YEARS HERE THERE AND EVERYWHERE MOSTLY ERIE NOW. LAST YEAR I HAD 6 GOOD DAYS 5 BAD DAYS MY WORST YEAR IN 7 YEARS ON ERIE. THIS YEAR SEEMS TO BE STARTING OUT  STRANGE TOO. I TALKED TO BAIT SHOPS THIS WEEK AT BARCELONA, THE CAT, PERSONAL EXPERIENCE OUT OF THE SBH NO ONCE SEEMS TO HAVE GOT THEM FIGURED OUT YET.

That’s awesome. Keep after it!! Best luck and tight lines. We’ll be back out Thursday and again Sunday (weather permitting) looking to put some weighers in the boat. I’ll post up reports.
