  1. Reef runners (eriedescent, gold clown) Flicker minnows (slick blue alewife) Deep taildancers (flash perch) Stingers (confusion) Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  2. Im new to Erie, but my walleye trolling is done on water where currents are seldom a factor. I run a probe for temp and use downspeed because its easier to see than my graph! I mentioned to DJ a couple years ago when he was on my boat that I wasnt a big fan of harnesses, though not because they dont work for me, just prefer hardbaits.....the faster the better! Of course you do what you have to to catch, but thats where I start. Just about anything Rapala makes will run well at faster speeds which makes them pair well with spoons...as opposed to just about anything from Reef Runner which are at at their best slow which makes them pair nicely with harnesses. 3. Sorry about your old girl...be patient looking for a breeder there are an awful lot of puppy factories out there selling BAD breeding! My father and step mother are veterinarians ill see if they can recommend a quality breeder. Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  4. You can troll perch on oneida with small perch cranks like you would walleye. They will take it fast too.... Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  5. Otisco has great crappie fishing and small water. According to the DEC techs that did the last full lake survey, there is a booming population and it certainly doesnt get a lot of pressure. I know a guide from Ontario who brings his drift boat down and rows out for em....he usually punches a 3 man ticket of slabs. Im planning on offering trips for em spider rigging and baitfishing this year for customers that want a multi-species trip. Campground, cabins, bait, launch, slips, and good shore fishing for crappie on site. Pm me if you need any info... Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  6. I thought you might move away from the harnesses for those reasons. Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  7. Tnx...i figured as much. Just the type of thing i enjoy. Trolling is fun for sure but hunting em in super shallow water casting is addictive...the thump on the pause! Do any charters offer this? Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  8. I caught a lot of fish with 2 yellow birds, a chute rod and a half dozen lures total....now its outta control....i love it! Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  9. I am putting on a new to me 60hp 4 stroke, new flooring, 3 new riggers (sold my 2), and gonna upgrade my humminbird 798 hdsi to a lowrance gen 3 12 inch. May have a few other add ons, but gotta let my piggy bank recover! Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  10. Spectacular Arapaima!!! Id love to hear some stories.... Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  11. Nice fattie! Seneca I presume? I was surprised at the numbers and quality on Skaneatles last fall when I was there bass fishing. I keep saying im gonna take the boat over there and never do...once you get a slip you get lazy! Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  12. Copper Confusion is my goto spoon on Otisco....thats one thing i dont need to buy for erie...gotta a dozen new ones easy. How about flash perch and it seems eriedescent should work too.... Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  13. I certainly KNOW nothing about Erie...yet...but in the finger lakes during the alewive spawn you can find fish in 1-3 fow on sand bars and gravel bars. This action can last a couple weeks or a couple months depending on water temperature it seems. This isnt to say they arent in 5-10 fow also...they just dont seem to hit right on the surface in deeper water. In my experience while the combat trollers are catching you can do as well or better finding your own water. I know if the ONLY way to catch fish is being in the pack combat trolling ill be getting skunked. Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  14. Im not talking shore...im talking hunting em with a trolling motor and your ears at night. Once you pattern em its night after night of addictive fishing! It as close to fishing a blitz in saltwater as you can get walleye fishing. 6 hrs of bait splashing on surface every single night in the same spots....somebody's got to be doing it.... 15. My goal with a fish that is to be released is to have it out of water no longer than i can comfortably hold my breathe. You can get a pic and a measurement in less than 30 seconds. If the fish is stressed badly leave it in the water. The exact size of a fish isnt really so important unless you believe it validates you as a fisherman...and to that id say the example you set and your efforts at conservation are what defines you...especially if you are the face of the sport on TV. 16. Does anybody cast sticks at night for em during the alewive spawn on Erie? If Im going at night for walleye Id much rather catch them feeding on top water than troll. Hard to beat hearing them smash a floater on the pause....they fight better in 2 feet of water too. Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  17. I just cant get into walleye central...had a walleye pro who is on tv regularly and sponsored by berkley just go on and on about how awesome nanofil is and how its the only braid for him...i tried to say how i used it the previous year and it wears with heavy use which i didnt like for the money...he crucified me with all kinds of technical berkley bs...last week on next bite he was explaining how he uses fireline for durability and nano isnt as durable. Pros that push product with bs that is anything but true turned me off and i havent signed on since. Same angler was catching and releasing eyes 2 weeks ago on next bite and every single fish he was flopping on the carpet and talking for way to long just holding the fish out of water...and he is SUPPOSED to be promoting ethical fishing not just berkley products...sorry for the rant! I much prefer LOU and LEU! Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  18. Chris, Water was just starting to clear up and get a little good color but it poured tonight. At least the ice will be gone! Its been off this year from shore for us, but im gonna try down your way from boat soon!
  19. I cant remember exactly where i got the last couple special mates but ill look and ill post a pic of a handful of favorites. Ive been fishing all night and the walleyes arent cooperating a bit!! Not giving up yet.... Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App

  23. Power trim would be huge! I have the terrova, but ill upgrade to 36 volt ulterra soon! I do a lot of night casting trips where a tm is a must and being able to control everything from my captains chair while my guests or customers fish is key. I can watch my graph and gps without anyone fishing losing their night vision. Id love to be able to get the trolling motor trimmed right out of the water for big fish and so i could move a bit with the big motor with out getting up... 24. Better keep that blue yozuri! That one works at night when the bait is rolling. Sent from my LGLS996 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
