Locoman
Sturgeon Point is not the only area to get perch. I do good out of Buffalo in the spring. Like anything else perch related, you just gotta find them. Don't worry about the weather forecast......it'll change ten times before Saturday.
jimski2
Sturgeon Point Marina is an annual disaster. It is located in the littoral shoreline zone and storm sediments settle in the calm waters present there. Delays in operation happen annually and sometimes early fall with a sandbar blocking access to the lake.

Locoman
Buffalo Harbor State Park is the closest alternative to Geneseo. Google map it for directions. https://parks.ny.gov/parks/191/details.aspx
jimski2
Early spring perch are usually good in the mud bottom off Smokes Creek behind the old steel plant.
