After 40 years fishing from the Point Breeze RV Family Park, with a broken hip surgery and 81 years of age, my fishing days are over. My mobie home and set up are available. Many days we came in with three hundred large perch from 55 foot of water a mile off shore. Limits of walleyes are available from spring ice melt down till winter freeze. The boat ramp serves 14 to 24 foot boats for launching with site parking for your boat in season and covered inside for the winter. Fishing partners are freindly. 75 foot of water is five miles offshore for 78 degree water in August. Located about thirty miles from downtown Buffalo .A swimming pool is used by the children and wives . 716 336 1111 is my cellpnone#.

73 F degree surface waters cause walleyes to head deep. Yet high winds bring a lot of surface dissolved oxygen there. Near surface waters do not appear on your charts as those fish scoot away from your travelling boat, no matter how slow you go. At 78 degrees the walleyes will be at 75 foot deep five miles off shore soon. Then you will see them on your screen suspended looking for bait out there. -
The "head of the river" delivers walleyes, night or day up till ice freezes over.

Ohio has no closed early season on sport walleye fishing. New York State should open to year round walleye fishing as ice fishing and spring fishing can continue. The walleye numbers in Ohio have no shortage and out of state license sales from New York residents for spring contests or personal use are not harming the replacement numbers. Our regulations were instituted years ago and now are need of change to the present situation. Rivers and inland lakes are open there but we have regulations that are outdated.

As the lake surface waters warm, the walleyes and others move to deeper colder waters, The Fourth of July they are best west of Sturgeon Point, then to five miles further west when the local waters rise above 72 degrees.

Electric motors and batterys are a better investment with gasoline for your outboard that will get you safely onshore in a sudden blow.

With fourteen years experience as a commercial fisherman, mainly for walleye, our nets were never set on the bottom as too many non target fish were involved. All our nets were set about ten feet from the surface to avoid outboard and boat tangles with surface buoys. The main target of walleyes were smelt, perch and small walleyes for their feed. Lures for like these fish work best for suspended walleyes. Walleyes are everywhere inthe lake where water temperatures are not too high. Also disolved oxygem results are low on the bottom during mid summer heat.

Walleyes suspend from Buffalo to the Pennsylvania border water. With side planers they scatter from your boat to lures away from your boat. Lead core line or snap weights will bring your lures such as stick baits to their preferred depths.

electric batterys do not last all day. my boat travels with a kicker motor and the main engine is slow enough.

Always be aware that a moving boat spooks walleyes, bass, salmon, trout away from your trolling boat, that is why side planers work well on Lakes Erie, Ontario and salt water.

Side planers with snap weights really produce in all waters. Diving stick baits at the end of your line will be the ticket since the walleye suspend in all waters near or off shore. Two ounce snap weights are good.

Local water temperatures are walleye right now for near shore fishing in the eastern basin area.

Sandbar was not exposed but depth situation was muddied from the blow this week. The parking lot is being repaved now. Old Lake Shore Road is closed from Sturgeon Point Road 1.6 miles East, best enter from Route 5 at Sturgeon Point Road.

Erie Pennsylvania perch fishermen in Lake Erie and Put in Bay harbor do well with plastic jigs instead of minnows. These jigs are available at "Big Bear" and Fish USA tackle stores. -
One hundred yards of lead core line with long mono leaders to your lures waste a lot of fishing time as you reel in four rods out from your boat. Snap weights get your lures to a good depth without having to reel back all your lines. Forty yards of line in front of your lures is plenty of time saved with a quick release snap weight. They do not sink your boards too deep as you will find so more walleyes will taken faster to their suspended depths where you will find te right weight on your snap weight and distance from your board. Unless you have a "Greenhorn" to reel the lines in, you will produce more fish after finding the distances that work.

The failure to have state action is from not having political power as a member there. Aother failure is not having an alliance with regular boating members who are not contest fishing members. Many boat fishing operators do not join or resent having the cash fishing interests in charge . -
Albany politicians forget about about local residents unless they can bleed local revenues to Albany.

A lot of local workers are employed building windmills on shore here. Landowners receive revenue from onshore windmills . Offshore windmills create nonaccess to boaters. Repairs and maintenance costs are extreme with off shore windmills.

Lake Freighters are now receiving summons for discharging oil contaminant bilge water.
