  1. looking to buy two tracks preferably 4 ft. and some ratchet rod holders
  2. Hey Pap, no real shake down here, my boats ready 24/7, I fish all year long .Nice thing about having an outboard on an 18' semi V jon boat. Worst case is a month between trips due to work or stupid ice(stupid ice is not safe enough to ice fish on, and to much of a pain when I break it up with the boat ). I also have a serious condition, its called "next", when a season is out or the bites not hot on a particular species , I move on to the "next" species. Theres always something.
  3. justtracytrolling, good info right there on rapals vs reef runners , thanks for sharing
  4. Nice blades flybuster, I always had the mindset making any lures at home was a labor of love , not necessarily a money saving tactic. But when you catch something on a lure you made yourself it tastes a little bit sweeter.
  5. thanks for sharing muskybob, i plan on giving it a try.
  6. I dont even watch that crap anymore on TV, they are all infomercials, the real deal is LEU and LOU I Agree with Justin, and Pap , for crying out loud, put the fish back then talk.
  7. Good stuff Pap , thanks for sharing. Other brands of blade baits have rattles in them as well, Hedon I believe is one .
  8. Thanks Pap, your not lost , I was just name dropping to get some chatter going. Got to do something this time of year is rough for fishing . Welcome yourself, looking forward to your posts, especially how you made your original worm burners. Thanks, Chuck
  9. Seriously,ice fishing? Canadians United maybe .
  10. I have not fished Erie, unfortunately, almost did last year, but its on my plate this year. Most of my walleye and perch have been on the St Lawrence, Lake Ontario(oswego) , Susquehanna River in PA. , and various lakes . I'm looking forward to the reports as well,it will really help guys like us get a little closer to the mark when were not from the area and have limited time on the Lake Erie.
  11. I would like to add ive caught multiple species casting and retrieving , but my prefered method is jigging with these, in deep water. If you dont use braid ,you will have a hard time not only detecting light strikes ,but also feeling the action of the lure, and if youve picked up debris(zebra mussel) or if the trebles tangled on the decent, which will stop the action.
  12. I feel much better now, if i could do the imoji thing or spell it I would stick a dozen smiley faces in my reply. Im from southeast PA. about an hour west of philly. Good stuff
  13. Im sure you fellas are trying to do a big long deal on welcoming me to the site, but really, i dont need the bells and whistles. Short and sweet, like pulling a band-aid off, but somebody welcome me before my feelings get hurt
  14. Keep in mind Lake Erie also touches Pennsylvania, and Ohio, so if were going to be Lake Erie United, the statement above includes them and should also have a link to their respective fish management departments. IMHO
  15. Nalod, very nice. The talent is pouring in to this site already.
  16. A deadly combination for walleye and perch for me has been blade baits, tried a butch and the best for me have been silver buddies. Always use braid with a flouro leader.
  17. Ive used the flouro 8lb test for fishing perch and walleye , jigging, trolling, and also the 30,50lb test for lady o trolling I personally like it better than red label, in the 8lb.which ive used quite a bit of. The 30 and 50 lb have worked well ,and have not had break offs at the knot or week spots. This is all leader material im refering to. The metered braid backing I just started using late last year so jury is still out. But has worked well for turning short copper into longer copper, on in-line boards and knowing how much line youve let out past the copper.
  18. I do all the same types of fishing , and want to use the motor for the versatility it offers. I really wonder how the self deploy/stow will hold up overtime??
