  1. Yes I flutter spoons often. Usually good for a few fish every time out. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  2. September 5 the walleyes were down 60 to 70 feet. Could not reach them with 10 color leadcore. I almost broke out my 209 and 300 coppers (45lb) I use for Salmon. But I thought I might not be able to detect a fish on. Any thoughts on using copper for Walleyes? Only way we could catch them was divers. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  3. I only know of leadcore and Copper for sinking lines and have both. I have not tried my copper on Walleye because I thought my 45 lb Copper may not detect a strike. But yesterday fished were down 60 to 70 and I could not reach them with leadcore. What is the brand of stainless wire you use? I use wire line on my diver rods but it is not a sinking line to my knowledge. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  4. September 5 additional information: A 7,8, and 10 color leadcore didn't do much . Usually I catch most of my fish on leadcore. I don't think they were getting down to the fish. A 10 color may get to 50. Even tried a deep diving plug on an 8 color, no luck. Riggers caught only 3, and only with fluttering. I never catch anything on riggers unless I flutter (spoon). Most were caught on divers. I find it virtually impossible to get divers to trip on Walleye. I had a Chinook diver and a dipsey out. Both adjusted as light as they will go. Many fish did not even trip diver and the only way we knew we had a fish was to be extremely attentive to the rod bend, etc. I do have a slide diver but I took it last time out because it has some issues, defective. Also, we ran two harnesses for hours and never even lost the worm. But at the cleaning station a couple guys got their limits on harnesses. I find that odd. But I always catch more on rapalas and long A bombers. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  5. September 5. Started at 7. Went straight out and trolled north. Started in 65 FOW. When we got in about 75 had some fish on screen. Turned West. Caught 6 by noon. Slow morning. Saw fewer fish towards Dunkirk, as water fit deeper to 90 feet Turned around and came back towards the Catt. At about 78 FOW Found lots of walleyes and caught 6 more in 2 hours. All stick baits. Varied our speed constantly with the i troll in hunt mode. From 1.5 to 2..6. the fish were 60 feet down. Towards the bottom. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  6. Thanks for the reports. I've been driving all the way down to the Catt. Maybe I don't need to! I'm closer to SBH. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  7. Looks like that color is no longer available Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  8. Wow, these look like normal Salmon spoons! I've been using smaller spoons. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  9. What spoons for you prefer? Thanks. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  10. Wow no report since August be 15th? Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  11. All on divers then? Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  12. Saturday August 24 2019. caught 12 walleyes. Started at 0630 in 60 FOW Trolling north. Got 7 lb walleye on a dipsey as we were letting it out, with 100 feet of line out. Kept trolling north out to 78 fow. Picked up a few here and there. Best screen for us was 60 to 65 FOW. Saw most walleye suspended between 55 and 60. Caught some on divers, some on 7 color leadcore, some on 8 color, a couple on downrigger on the bottom. 10 color leadcore didn't produce to my surprise. Used bomber long As, jointed rapala, spoons, and one eye-fish harness. A little rough, but fishable. Leadcore didn't work as well as usual, accounting for about half. Straight out seemed best. We went towards Dunkirk and saw fewer fish. They were scattered around today. Some guys reported good luck on 80 FOW. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  13. My NOAA site says 2 feet or less Saturday so that means 4 footers. But we're going to try it. Buffalo to Ripley nearshore forecast. Nws.noaa.com Aug 23 2019 .TODAY...North winds 5 to 10 knots. Mostly sunny. Waves 2 feet or less. .TONIGHT...North winds 5 to 15 knots becoming northeast. Mainly clear. Waves 1 to 3 feet. .SATURDAY...Northeast winds 5 to 15 knots. Mostly sunny. Waves 2 feet or less. .SATURDAY NIGHT...Northeast winds 5 to 15 knots becoming southeast. Mainly clear. Waves 2 feet or less. .SUNDAY...Southeast winds 5 to 15 knots. Mainly clear, then becoming partly cloudy. Waves 1 foot or less. .MONDAY...Southeast winds 5 to 15 knots becoming south. A chance of showers and thunderstorms Monday night. Waves 2 feet or less. .TUESDAY...South winds 5 to 15 knots becoming southwest. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Waves 2 feet or less. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  14. Thanks for making a report. I am going Saturday morning. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  15. Find a farm pond loaded with bluegills. Bobber, and worms. Best way to get hooked. The kids, hooked, not just the fish. Maybe that Tift preserve ponds right near the entrance to the SBH? never fished there but I here it has panfish. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  16. I just ordered the opti tackle ones you linked to but it looks like they go flag down with strike Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  17. I've used the shower curtain rings and skinny rubber bands, and they don't even break. I'm finding it hard to detect strikes off the big boards, because the rubber bands don't break, and rod is bouncing and bucking with the waves. Any ideas? Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  18. Good tip. I have all the gear, leadcore, dipseys, coppers, autopilot, itroll, riggers, big boards. But your advice on just using some lead and low drag harness is refreshing. I think I will try it. Thanks. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  19. Just got done. August 4. Fished from 0630 to 1130. Only caught 8. I went East a bit from the jetty. In 55 FOW the water temp 63 degrees 45 feet down. 75 degree surface. Nice thermocline. But this only in small area. Once we moved out of there the temp break was only a couple degrees. Walleyes were marked there, but no bites. We went deeper and caught fish from 63 to 70. Used stick baits mostly. Leadcore 5, 7, 8, and 10 color. Dipseys, and riggers. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  20. Thanks for the report. We're going Sunday. Last time we were out 2 weeks ago we had better luck in about 85 feet. We'll try 55 to start this time. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  21. Most of them on jointed rapala. Perch color. Two on a purple stick bait, unknown MFG. Two on worm harnesses. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  22. Got 13 walleyes. Most luck was 80 to 85 feet. Had to work hard for them. 6 am to 2 pm. No schools on the screen. They were spread out it seems. Stick baits were best. 7 color leadcore most productive. The 2 feet or less forecast wAs again not even close. 4 to 5 footers in the morning. Calmed down some around 11. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  23. I don't fish for Walleye to get a good fight. Just for the good eating. If I want a fight, I go for Salmon on Ontario. Leadcore has done better for me than dipsey and divers. I use 27 lb leadcore on the same rods I use for Salmon. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  24. Thanks for the advice. What is the best wind direction for calm waves. I assume South? Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  25. Tried to fish yesterday out of SBH. Both NOAA and the Windy App forecasts said 2 feet or less. Went out of the South gap and had to come back in. Waves were 5 feet. Ridiculous. This happened a couple weeks ago. Oh, and the ice boom camera is also useless. Resolution is so poor. It looked smooth. NOT. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Erie United Mobile App
