  1.   Agreed, the Union canal  would be a great place for a launch & docks, also any of the other smaller canals to the north. I know there is more to it , but some one just needs to build launches at the end of these canals & they would be all set. Most have parking areas or could be set up with them. We need to start writing letters to the right people( our Reps.)  & try to get things going or maybe we boaters should have a protest/rally like  others do! lol

  2.    I think where ever they would put a launch it would/should need a break wall. I guess my point is we need more access to get into the water even if they are only a 1/2 mile apart.  18 mile ck. would be good too but it is shallow at the mouth & would need dredging  a lot & most likely a wall also.  The thing is there is probably money from the Nia. power Authority that could be used for this. I don't think woodlawn would be a go due to the new launches at the Buffalo harbor st. park now. jmo  Rumor was a few yrs. ago they were going to put a marina/launch in at the old steel plant site if they ever get all the slag pile gone.

I have been saying for years there should be a launch at Evangola St park.  every thing is there except a launch!  Parking , lighting, rest rooms the road.  I know South town walleye org. tried for years but never got any where with it.  Maybe we should start writing letters to B. Higgings He seem like the only one that gets things done on the water front!

  4. Buffalo Small boat harbor

I took a ride by the SBH yesterday & they sure do have things torn up!  It looks like they have a lot of work to do in the next 2-3 months to get things ready. It appears as if the new docks will be running east & west in the harbor instead of north & south as they did in the past. The 4 new launches look good but it looks like it might be a short area to swing a truck & trailer around. I guess we'll have to see?

  5. I have never had a slip at Chadwicks , but I know that the new owners took good care of the launch area this past year keeping it clean & free of goose crap. Also the workers are younger & seem to be a bit more on the ball.  My brother had a slip at Chadwicks for about 7 yrs under the old owners & it was not taken care of too well.

This is the same idea but the foam was more solid like the pads you stand on as I said above.  Also I use short golf tees to hold the harness loops on my noodles,( short roofing nails work too) & keep them in one of those plastic milk containers on the boat.  You could also use a deep container of the correct size to store them flat in maybe from the dollar tree.

  7.   I use the noodles but I just saw a thing at the Niag. show. It is a flat piece of stuff(foam) like the 1/2" foam that you use to stand on a concrete floor by a work bench like Harbor fright sells in 2'x2' pieces but this was maybe 8"x12" .  It had slots cut in both edges & you stuck the hooks in the foam & wrapped the leader around the foam in the slots. I think you started with the loop of the leader in the slot & finished it off sticking the hooks in where they ended up. They you can stack them flat.
