Years ago the favorite spot for early spring perch fishing was off Smokes Creek near the slag piles.. There were hundreds of boats there at this early condition. This area is where the Buffalo Harbor dredging material was dumped and mostly sediments where the critters that perch eat are at. The slag forms a good base for the perch eggs to mature. Seneca shoals off shore three miles due west was a good shale bottom to attract spawning fish in the spring also. When the water temperature reaches above 55 degrees the perch will move off shore to deeper water.

At this area are there 2 piles/humps on the bottom in 40-42 fow?   Thanks

Anyone found perch out of the Cat yet? Last report was everyone was having a difficult time finding them yet.

Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Erie United Mobile App

A friend fished Wed. from the catt. to Sp shallow & deep & ended up with 2 fish. He fished from 8am-1 pm. was the only one out on the lake Then decided he was nuts& left!

Fyi, he tried launching at the Hanover launch & found so much slit & mud he couldn't even back the trailer in the water & ended up at the state launch with no docks in yet.  Also miller had emeralds.

  3.   If you look at web cam at Barcelona Harbor it looks like they are dredging & repairing the break wall today.  Fyi, can see all the great lake cams on Great lakes web cam site

  4. Minn Kota power drive for sale

Listing for a friend.  A Minn Kota power drive; 55 # thrust;  54" shaft;  12 volts;  It has a foot pedal with a 20' cable & comes with mounting hardware.  It is in excellent condition.  This unit "Cannot be upgraded" to an I-Pilot system.  Asking $285 , he is only selling it because he upgraded to an I-pilot himself.  Prefer local pick up in the buffalo, NY area but might meet 1/2 way.  Let me know!   Thanks

  5.   We tried to fish out of the Oak today , no good!  The creek was chocolate brown & it went both east & west into the lake out about a mile. Then the east winds picked up 1 footers grew to 3 footers , my buddies kicker wouldn't start & we got blown off by 11:00. Bad day for sure!

FYI, the only good thing was they were putting the docks in on both sides when we came in!
