  2.  You can launch at the SBH on the north end by the office building. There is 1 dock in there.  Also can go to the Catt. state launch . but they have NO docks in take boots & climb aboard!  Dunkirk harbor launch I believe also. Most launches won't be officially open until May 1, or later  for some unknown stupid reason!

  3.   I believe SP usually opens a week or two after the walleye opener, but may be later due to dredging again.

I was thinking they always opened around May 15  in  years pasted.

This is not just for fishing guys, there are family weekend boaters, jet ski operators and sail boarders who need access.

Sent from my iPhone using Lake Erie United

People need to contact their Reps. state & local & let them know we want/need more access points. Higgins, Gallivan, Hoyt, Brown & others. Even early & late in the season to take the barricades down that are across the launches & let people use them (At their own risk) like Erie basin & others. The lakes are a natural thing & people should be allowed to use them whenever they want not just when the people in charge think we should allowed to.  Also the fishing clubs should get letter writing campaigns going to the Reps. as a group. South town walleye use too. They boost of 2000 members & their mission is the get more lake access but it's not happening.

  5.  I never tried the wings ,but I will be!  There use to be an older black gentleman that would sit in the fish cleaning station at the SBH years ago & he would clean up your mess if you gave him the heads & guts of the walleyes. I asked him what he did with them & he said "you white people throw out the best part of the fish" & he did point out the meat on the wings.  He said he made fish stock & gumbo with it. He always took the heads, the wings & the tail parts of the fish. He hasn't been there the last few years that I know of.

Gonna be cold on Sunday but calm enough to get out  I might have to give it a whirl.  An hour or so drive for me, so we'll have to see.  Are the ramps down there steep or not?

I drove by the small boat harbor today & there are no docks in just the launch.  Also FYI the Erie basin will not be open until May & they have it blocked, so no launching there at all.

Fishermen are low on the list for funding to repair or acquire launchs and  fishing access.

Not on lake Ontario & finger lakes, I believe there are 20-30+ launches many of which are state owned.
