  1. Good luck guys.
  2. Heading out tomorrow... after all the wind changes we have had my expectations are not very high. You never know.
  3. Nice jobs J. Sparrow and backinthegame! Hope the next couple days don't stir it up too much. Hoping for a Friday outing.
  4. Nice report. Sounds like a great day on the lake.
  5. Nicely done Greg. Fyi...The limit for Erie is 6 per fisherman. General regulation for NY waters is 5.
  6. Way to go Cisco. Nice work. Thanks for the report.
  7. Bring repellent and a couple fly swatters to pass the time between walleye netting.
  8. Awesome job. 32 incher is special. Congratulations.
  9. What limited experience I have with spoons is to run them faster than harnesses, in the 2.0 to 2.5 mph range. I have taken some decent eyes with them. Tried them under high sun mid day last time out of the Catt and no takers. Harness bite was better but later.
  10. That's great. Nice solid walleye. Gotta love it. Can't wait until I can get back out there.
  11. Congratulations Rutnut. Sounds like a great day. What size range were they?
  12. Fished out of the Catt today from 12 pm until 8. Had a slow start in bright part of afternoon but did well from 6 to 8 pm. Ended with our 2 man limit... got 1 early bottom bouncing while we had enough of a breeze. Switched to trolling harnesses on dypsy's in 70 to 78 fow. Watermelon and a purple / red did best. Nothing real big but some nice healthy fish. Great sunset.
  13. Thanks for sharing PD. Quality fish. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow. Still deciding where to launch.
  14. Way to go. Congratulations. Hope they continue now for the rest of the season.
  15. Best screen for me is when the long "ribbons" are thick with multiple colors (bigger fish) and there are multiple marks crisscrossing which shows they are active and willing to chase. Nothing like that last Monday.
  16. Good point MyTurn on finding fish away from the bait. On Monday out by the line there was too much bait I think. They probably fed all night with that moon and were too full? When we moved to a quieter screen is when we finally caught a few.
  17. Those annoying ankle biting flies were nasty yesterday off Sturgeon... bring your fly swatters!
  18. For some reason it was a tough bite yesterday afternoon and evening off of Sturgeon out by the line in 60 to 65 fow. Plenty of marks but the only thing that would bite consistently was the Sheepshead. Moved a bit to get away from them and we managed to get 3 eyes but it was tough slugging. The wind picked up pretty good and the waves built up. Kind of a tough day but that's all a part of this walleye game!!
  19. Fished out of Sturgeon Point today. 12 pm till 8 pm. Got a little bumpy from about 5 to 8 pm. We got 3 eyes 19 to 22 inches on harnesses. Started oout with bottom bouncers then changed to trolling with dipsies then back to drifting with bb'ers when the wind and waves picked up. We caught more sheephead than ever before... about 20. Thought we were going to do better.
  20. For me it's 121 miles to Barcelona vs. 83 miles to Sturgeon... if I fish until dusk it makes for a long night driving back and adding cleaning time on top of that. The extra money to launch at Sturgeon is well worth it to save on both time and gas money if there's active fish in both waters.
  21. Thanks for sharing Walnut109. Quality fish. How deep were you?
  22. Hi Turbo, what time of day were you fishing? I have had real tough bites change for the better if I hold out until evening when the sun is lower. Since I have a long ride to get there I don't try for the early morning bite. Mid day is typically slower but things get better as evening approaches. Also with the full "buck" moon they might have been feeding all night long and weren't hungry? Keep on it and you will have a big catch soon.
  23. Awesome job. Making a fishing buddy for life! Nice boat.
