  1. Hey... King Slammin what are some of the traditional early spring night time areas to try? Do guys go out from different ports. do you guys run inline planar boards at night? or rod in hand? just curious....I love night fishing for eyes, but have never fished Erie at night
  2. Jimski2...I was poking around that site but was unable to locate the reports off Huron..any chance of clarifying where on OGF you found them? Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  3. What did that run you $$ ? Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  4. hey Rick (Reel Overtime), is the "smart troll system" some type of digital speed/throttle control for your kicker trolling motor (gas operated)?
  5. water must cooling down by now huh? anyone been trolling at night lately (donnelys wall area)?
  6. mr 580 how did you do jigging? think I may head over Tuesday, if the weather forecast holds
  7. Nice job Larry..thanks for sharing..I'm gonna have to weasel into your lineup sometime if there's an opening Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  8. Trapper..if oakies work in Erie, don't hesitate to fish sliders..I had a buddy out this spring..we were crushing em on minnows and he dropped a slider down..prob more as an experiment..and started ripping them. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Erie United Mobile App
  9. Hey Trapper... do you fish for the perch in the Fall precisley the same way as you would in the Spring (ie: emerlads on perch rigs)? Do the bait shops typically have the emeralds in the fall too? Thanks
  10. Jimski2 where is the Purina tower?
  11. Hey Trapper...can you describe your double setup w/spoons & harnesses? thanks
  12. Actually another technique we used to have a lot of success with years ago was to take a 3 way swivel, tie a 4 foot lead on it & connect a deep diving plug (like a Bommber Long A). then tie a 6 foot lead on with a flutter spoon (like an Evil Eye or Sutton) and run them off the Big boards about 150' back. It gave the eyes a "choice", do I want to eat a spoon today or a plug. Occassionally we would get "doubles"....Yessir 2 fat eyes at once. Think I may have to dig that old trick out next time. One thing I notice though is this.... years ago we caught many fish in the upper 25 feet of the water column (June, July & August)..over deep water...Nowadays the fish seem more bottom oriented
  13. yeah....25 plus years ago we hammered them by popping Evil Eye spoons fromt eh downriggers
  14. Trapper...its true what Greenhead said....getting baits out and away from the boat. However my last trip to SP, all 8 eyes came off the downriggers and most of those were caught by popping the lure from the release when we saw fish on the screen and letting the bait flutter up through them
  15. we fished out of Dunkirk this past Saturday. Got beat up all day with little to show for it. 4 eyes in the box. All fish were taken on Renoskys. 3 on the dipsey 180-200 back on a 3 setting & 1 off the leadcore-10 color no extra weight
  16. Ckawski... I am a little "new" to these boards.... it is NOT obvious to me yet how I would "PM" you. You gotta cell number?
  17. Ckawski... any size on the 8 eyes? right out in front of Dunkirk? or over by the "breaks/trench"? depth of water? sticks/ harnesses? Plan on going out of Dunkirk Saturday. truly appreciate any info.... a l ong drive for me to get there...thanks!!!
  18. Pequod1 did you or the fleet locate any schools of eyes (on your sonar) out there when you were out?
  19. the deep diving "Long A's"? or a shallow running bomber? any color preference this year? I know & realize color preference can change by the hour out there sometimes
  20. do you guys like anything else besides the renoski sticks? I don't have those in the arsenal yet. 25 plus years ago we always did well out of Dunkirk & Barcelona on deep diving cranks off the boards in the summertime...like bomber Long A's, Bagleys etc
  21. thanks guys....hope to see you out there...
