    Found a massive school, from bottom to 20 ft. up. 50 was our goal but changed it to 60. The school flattened out and disappeared. Ended up with 55. Could not locate the fish again. Where they went it is a mystery. Sent from my iPad using Lake Erie United Mobile App

    I had the opportunity to fish for blue pike.There were plenty of boat rental boat liveries along our shores. You had to reserve a boat a week ahead if you wanted to fish the weekend. My dad always a reserve a boat( which at that time was 2.00, He had a 5 hp. Firestone motor , which he bought ar the Lucky Urbans on Broadway.. We would go every Friday night , bring home 200 plus blues. My mother would get up when we got home . And help scale fish. My father never filleted them. We only had a small freezer,in our fridge. So they would wrap them in newspaper and give them to the neighbors, then drive to Bennington to give our relation. Driving along the lake at night, it was lantern city. Two lanterns on on each side of the boat. Multiply by a couple hundred boats. There where three reasons why you quit fishing.. 1.High winds 2. Ran out of bIt, 3 had enough fish for the night.     It took us longer to find the fish then catch them. I want d only 25. It took us 45 min. To catch them. You had to be right over them it you wanted to get them. Half were caught on a Rapala jigging spoon. The other ones on emerald shiners.q Sent from my iPad using Lake Erie United Mobile App

    Onix 10 , with the Ipilot link, I troll hookup to my kicker motor. The kicker motor is used only when it gets rough. Majority of the. Time I use the ulterra trolling motor. Of course I only bottom bounce. Sent from my iPad using Lake Erie United Mobile App

    Don't fish Canadian waters. Don't need the g Hassle from the Canadians, no minnows unless bought from Canada, worms need to be Moss, no earth, even Canadian worms packed in Canadian soil.     I have down riggers and have fished with them many years. I average 4 outings per week fishing Lake Erie. I'm strictly a bottom bouncer fisherman, for walleyes. I used my home made worm harnesses, silver flatfish with a stinger hook, and a hookless spoon that is attached to beads and hook below it. I fish for eaters and never fish over 25 ft. Until water temp Reaches above 75 degrees. Then I'll go out and fish 40 to 73 ft.

    Fished two hrs out of Sturgeon Pt. caught 45 jumbos. Could have caught our limit if 100 with no problems. Hate to see these big sows laden with eggs being caught. When you bring them up and their bladder is coming out of their mouths , they will not survive if returned to the water. About 35boats congregated in one area. All fish were jumbos, no small runts.

    Had talked to two individuals that were out last week and had taken 126 perch between three guys. They went out of Sturgeon Point. Be careful went going out of the harbor, It is only 3 1/2 ft. And high water. Make sure you raise your motor up when passing through, to be on the safe side.

    There appears to be a lack of emeralds in the river again. They were thick and heavy up to a month ago. We've been serching every day, with no luck . I just hope that this year doesn't turn out like last year. Does anyone know when the lift to Ft. Of Ferry will be completed?

    Found out today, that Sturgeon point will not be dredged this year. That means that it will remain open for the rest of the season. It is 5 ft. Deep at present. A bit of warning, that could change as the water level lowers, keep you motors raised when going out.

    Nice to hear from you. Did you launch out of Sturgeon Point? There were 6 boats out from Evans bar.

    Reports have it , that there were boats out of Sturgeon Point yesterday fishimg for perch. if any one knows how they made out , please post. They suppose to dredge the harbor this spring which means that when they do, the harbor will be closed.
