  1. I run them 40 or 50 ft back on downriggers you can add 10 ft to the depth of the ball and be carful bringing them in they dig hard if you have a lot of pressure ( reeling them in fast ) when they break the surface they'll come at you like a shot !!     Good Luck

I picked up a bunch of PK lures, jigging raps, and kastmasters marked down to $2.40 or $1.60. After losing a few grand worth of gear to Chaumont Bay last ice season, it was nice to replenish some tackle.

I found myself in a triple set last year looking at the buoys and trying to find a way out will make you pucker for sure it was my first time out and knew nothing about them or how they ran with downriggers and 10 colors out you cant just turn around and go back ... I lucked out and nothing bad happened !!! keep a good eye out they aren't easy to see in low light

Doesn't mean the U.S. Coast Guard will not stop boats for safety equipment checks, just they will not ticket you for speeding if your following the boating rules of the road. This time of the year the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves are doing their training time and they will stop boats for safety checks a lot.Once you have been inspected once, they usually have your boat registration number and leave you alone.
