  1. Fished out of the Catt today from 12 pm until 8. Had a slow start in bright part of afternoon but did well from 6 to 8 pm. Ended with our 2 man limit... got 1 early bottom bouncing while we had enough of a breeze. Switched to trolling harnesses on dypsy's in 70 to 78 fow. Watermelon and a purple / red did best. Nothing real big but some nice healthy fish. Great sunset.20210806_233122.thumb.jpg.db1dc0150ead8d283ca2c12e78481def.jpg

  2. For some reason it was a tough bite yesterday afternoon and evening off of Sturgeon out by the line in 60 to 65 fow. Plenty of marks but the only thing that would bite consistently was the Sheepshead. Moved a bit to get away from them and we managed to get 3 eyes but it was tough slugging. The wind picked up pretty good and the waves built up. Kind of a tough day but that's all a part of this walleye game!!

  3. Fished out of Sturgeon Point today. 12 pm till 8 pm. Got a little bumpy from about 5 to 8 pm. We got 3 eyes 19 to 22 inches on harnesses. Started oout with bottom bouncers  then changed to trolling with dipsies then back to drifting with bb'ers when the wind and waves picked up. We caught more sheephead than ever before... about 20. Thought we were going to do better.

  4. For me it's 121 miles to Barcelona vs. 83 miles to Sturgeon... if I fish until dusk it makes for a long night driving back and adding cleaning time on top of that. The extra money to launch at Sturgeon is well worth it to save on both time and gas money if there's active fish in both waters.

  5. Hi Turbo, what time of day were you fishing? I have had real tough bites change for the better if I hold out until evening when the sun is lower. Since I have a long ride to get there I don't try for the early morning bite. Mid day is typically slower but things get better as evening approaches.

Also with the full "buck" moon they might have been feeding all night long and weren't hungry?

Keep on it and you will have a big catch soon.

  6. 20210722_203849.thumb.jpg.a955cabe01a0a3f798f43f6ea7b8fc4a.jpgJust got back from fishing out of Barcelona this afternoon with my daughter. We fished from 3:30 until dark. Mainly in 58 to 65 fow and west of the launch. Landed 7 eyes between us (17 to 25 inches). Some nice healthy fish. All on harnesses off dipsys. Also landed a few sheeps. Trolled west and found the red roof landmark. Was marking eyes but they didn't start to bite until close to 7 pm. Then it was pretty consistent heading back with the wind at our backs. Lost a few more on the fight up as well. Would have preferred to bottom bounce with rod in hand but it wasn't blowing hard enough to create enough speed so we trolled with our 2 dipsy rods.

Big thank you to CrestCom21. First time out of Barcelona launch. Was debating to launch from Sturgeon and decided to give it a try. Will post a picture later. Getting late and time to filet!

  7. I checked my Navionics Boating mobile app on my phone and the state line is on it. It is also on my chart plotter Navionics chip that I use in my Lowrance Hook 5 unit.

If you look at a map there is a point that goes out a little ways after crossing into PA. This is where Twentymile creek goes into the lake. A little farther west there is a Marina called North east marina. These are a couple landmarks but I have never been there.
