  1. Fished from 3 to 9 pm yesterday. Started drifting in 72 feet west of SP. Got several nice perch. Moved back towards SP around 7 and found some marks. Caught 1 short eye, lost better one, lost rod & reel to good fish, got a few more perch and 4 sheeps. Not the results I was looking for but it was a nice evening on the water. A bit calm.

  2. They may not have been spinning at the ideal speed yesterday but I have had success with the same bouncer & harness in even less wind a few times in the past. I will give the rod a jigging pump every so often to change the speed, sometimes this can trigger a bite. It doesn't take very much to make them spin.

  3. Fished out of Sturgeon Point yesterday from 8 to 2 pm. Went west and drifted with harnesses and bouncers in water ranging from 60 t0 70 feet. Plenty of marks and some bait clouds on screen from time to time. Not a very productive day but it was good to be out for first time on Erie this season. A trolling boat went by and caught one a few hundred feet from us. Caught 1 drum and my buddy had a good one on and lost it. Line was cut clean above the bouncer so it might have got cut by the gill plate? Was a good fish. Bummer. Looking forward to next outing.

Might have to take up trolling but we enjoy the rod in hand bite and fight.

Regarding wind / wave forecast we were expecting 1 foot or less and for a while they were at least 3+ feet I would say. Not a problem but interesting to see the variation.

  4. Fished NW out of SP today in anywhere from 65 up to 73 fow. Started at 9 am and stopped around 4:30 pm. Drifted with worm harnesses until the wind died early afternoon. Tried trolling a bit without luck (not really equipped to do it right). Switched back to drifting when the wind returned and shifted from South to North. Ended up with 6 eyes, a number of sheepshead, and 5 decent perch. Plenty of marks. Overall a fun day.

  5. Hi Fishmaster, is your app "Windfinder". I find it pretty good and like the actual tracking graph you can click on called the report.

Take a look at the forecast for Dunkirk tomorrow... Supposed to blow pretty hard through the night hours and into the morning. Might build up pretty quick. You can click on show night time hours to see the overnight detail as well.
