Fished yesterday 8/1 from 2:30 until 7:30 pm. Out of the Catt. Caught 2 shorts, 2 keepers on harnesses / dipsies . Had trouble finding a good screen around 80 fow. Moved in to 60 to 65 foot range and it did not get any better. Others we talked to had mixed results earlier in the day. Was hoping for a more productive outing. That's fishing!

I know what you're feeling. I have 3 daughters and they grew up fishing with me. We still get out but now they have babies of their own so it doesn't happen as often. Enjoy every day.

Next trip I plan to fish the Catt. The advantage of driving out to Barcelona seems to be reduced a bit as the fish move East end of July.

Fished out of Barcelona late afternoon till 8 pm. Also toward Pa line. Overcast and rain showers started around 6:30 or so. Kept 5, biggest 25 incher. A few shorts released. Lost 2 behind boat. Best marks in 70 to 90 fow. Firetiger (black, orange, white) harness did best.

Tough break. Hope you get back out soon. I'm going today. Will provide a report.

Based on our experience on Monday and other reports on here and Lake Ontario United I think a more consistent bite is at Barcelona. Good luck.

I trolled near the markers on Monday and we wondered what they were for. The nets must be set deep. Glad my dipsies didn't get caught in them 🙂. Thought they might be marking a diving sight or underwater object / sunken.

Based on the good reports decided to drive out to Barcelona yesterday. Got 3 lines in the water at 11 am. Fished until around 4 pm. Pretty much straight out and a little west. 68 to 72 feet was best. We caught 15 keepers, 3 or 4 shorts and lost several more good fish on the fight. Fished 3 dipsies on 3 settings down 130 to 150 feet. Harnesses and sticks. My friend lost a big mystery fish on a stick that if it was an eye would have been impressive. It left teeth marks on my new Bomber A stick. Could have easily made our limit but we were happy with the day and the sun was strong. Good luck everyone. The extra drive distance (from Rochester) was worth it.

Most of the limit reports I am hearing of are out of Barcelona. I am planning to go on Monday 7/8. Maybe out of Dunkirk heading west. Will report how we do. Good luck.

Fished out of the Catt today. 12:30 pm till 6 pm. 60 to 65 fow. Caught 3... 22", 24" and a short on dipsys and harnesses. Buddy lost biggest one at the boat. Spoke to a few guys who said it was slow for them. Fun day. A bit warm with flat lake.

Beautiful... out of Dunkirk?

Fished out of the Catt yesterday from noon to 8. Trolled stick and harness. 1 white bass and 1, 13.5 inch perch. Lake was flat and calm. Best marks were in 35 to 38 feet early and 60 feet later on. They didn't want to eat. Only a couple other boats out. Got as far west as Dunkirk. I think I will wait awhile before going again. Hats off to everyone who caught nice catches in the tournament last weekend. 

Out of Dunkirk in NW direction today.  Fished from 12 till 4:30. Ended up with 10 keeper walleye with biggest 25 inches and 5.4 pounds. Sticks caught most in 90 to 105 fow. Beautiful day out there. First time launching out of Dunkirk. Very nice. Others we talked with had success as well.

Hi Seasculpin, that day I believe I was trolling with 2 leadcore rods in the 60 to 68 fow range. All crawler harnesses that day. Gold with orange and VMC firetiger if I recall correctly. I didn't expect the wind to be as strong that night. More than the forecast. May be making one more attempt tomorrow. If I go I will report.

General question... have the walleye begun to migrate west yet? Are there still enough around for possible last trip out of Catt to Dunkirk? Thinking of going next Tuesday or Wednesday.
