  1. Yesterday searching for perch with my graphs we went out to 75 foot and back into 50 foot of water with no good hooks on the bottom grouped together. We ended up in 55 foot off the west side of the Catt and found a couple with a few boats nearby. But the new neighbor on his first trip out took 24 perch up to 14 inches 60 foot off the Catt. Six gallons of gasoline should have used in the lawnmower for us. The walleyes were suspended from 30 to 50 foot off the bottom just about every where.

  2. Well turns out meeting was about just the area infront by NY Route 5 for Industrial Development ,none of the areas in back at waterfront. Jimski2 was able to make his point about water access.I reminded them about the Smokes Creek eco system and the important walleye ,bass & steelhead spawning habitat that needs to be protected above all in any rezoning & land development. Also asked for green space access along Smokes Creek for Fishing!

Things are still not changing. Ten months of open lake this year and Sturgeon Point finally opened after walleye season opened. Then it was blocked by a sand bar again. A sixty mile round trip to the Cattaraugus Creek was the nearest lake access from the Southtown areas. But the registration moneys, sales taxes and fuel taxes disappear in the “Black Holes” called Albany, “County Hall” and the entitled.

Raise your engine trim up to save your prop in shallow water.

An American family with property in Ontario was allowed to their cottage after agreeing to a 14 day quarantine. They are checked by cell phone calls and visits by OPP officers regularly. Fines are in the thousands of dollars. They are not allowed to swim in their lake. Really not an enjoyable stay.

  5. Guy at camp said he picked a couple up over the MTN but didn't mark much over there...screens loaded at 60 on bottom

Bottom waters out real deep could have oxygen depleted water due to algae and fish decay. It is called a “dead zone”.

  6. Snapshot - Which setting were your dipseys at? 2? 3?

All dipseys should be set at three to send them out farther from your boats track. That is where the fish flee when you pass over them with your boat. You can set them out a lot of deeper and farther on that setting.
