  1. The abbreviations are ok for the locals, I have had a funny experience. I lost 2 cylinders on my 88-88 SPL on a boat I had, so folks gave us directions to a marinia. Well we followed the directions heading north we were told it was right before the tgi bridge, so we're reading all the signs crossing the road now we are about to enter Canada. So I go into a gas station and ask does anyone know where the TGI bridge is, the lady in the store told me to go out of the store and look up at that big green bridge that's the TGI bridge I could of died you mean the thousand island bridge. What a dumb ass, where's the TGI bridge, anyway we found the marinia. Once we knew that the TGI bridge was!!! We still laugh about that. The TGI bridge LOL.
  2. I knew it!!! You sly dog, about how many more eye spoons are you going to put on the site. Would a phone call be better? That way I could pick your brain as for colors vs. area I fish??? I'm thinking maybe switching out the ones I picked for ones more suited towards the NE LakeO, let me know!!! What ever suits you. PAP
  3. Lures with a twist, hmmmm I heard that somewhere before?? Could this be the work of Power Dive??
  4. Welcome aboard Steelhead421, I take it with a title like that you fish a lot for Crome??, what's the go to lure in Erie, like LakeO orange colors and long slender spoons like a sutton 44. Good luck to you and your crew for the 2916 year!! It's great to have capt. On board with us!! PAP
  5. Wow your a major key to his paraphernalia. So you might have his work when he might be out, which is great to have both of you should you need something. He mentioned that he's also a fisherman and would give me an idea of what colors work the best in the areas we fish, would you be able to do this also? His work is so differant, like there's no base color to per say, like this one is a green fire tiger? I mainly fish LakeO for eyes and in the northeast like Black River Bay, Chaumont Bay, Stoney & Galloo island. I kinda pushed him to put his walleye spoons on the site, so I think it might be 10. He mentioned he would have more this weekend, and more every week. I told him I have 11 spoons picked out on my own, but I hate to place the order till the whole deal is up, I might switch out some spoons for others I didn't even see yet. Well I guess I'll just wait, I know he's more busy than a 3 armed wallpaper hanger so I hate to bother him. Thanks for your info!! PAP.
  6. He told me his best buyers were to Lake Erie folks and the Canadians, so your a dealer for him? If so that's great man!!! I never in my life saw such awesome paint jobs. He told me he very particular with his products and it shows. Do you have a bait shop or a store like a sporting goods? This is a small world. PAP
  7. Did any of you guys look at power dives walleye spoons. They are 2 3/8" these lures are second to none, I'm going to order 12 for now. He will be posting more every weekend here's the link I hope this works hybirdlures.simdif.com, he's been painting lures since he was 9 years old. Now he is offering his services to the general public. He has all his slims painted and harness blades. You just have to see these. He only painted for charters before. I got him to do eye spoons mainly because the stinger spoons paint flat sucks. Check them out!!!
  8. Thanks Locoman, I really appreciate that, it's funny my girls are twins. This is what i have been waiting for my whole life, my girls are 11 years old. I know they need to take the boating course, but they can chauffeur my 22fter as good as some I've seen. I set lines then they get the fish rods, I help net and remove hooks. Then we give it a go again. This will be a whole new ball game, compared to our home lake. Flat and calm, main thing is the potty, girls need privacy!!!! Same here as the way we were raised, they hunt, love to fish, play sports right now it's softball. I really hope a father and daughter TEAM!!!!! Thanks man I'll take you up on that offer!! PAP
  9. Guys I guess I have to accept the fact that I was fishing out of Dunkirk, for eyes, my father wanted me to go and that would get my mind off this cancer shyt he had we were only there for 3 days when I got the phone call to come home dad has taken a turn for the worst, they ambulanced him to ICU, I had to be there because he did not want to be on life support, which I was the executor of the will, I had to carry out his wishes. He also wanted to be at home. Hospice gave me a box and explained what it contained and what to do. My boat sat in the front yard still hooked to my truck. It looked like a jacked knife tractor trailer. My dad gave me his vehicle said he wouln't be needing it anymore, I can tell you it saw more MPH's then ever by dad. I sometimes say I fished Erie, but it's a time in my life where I need to be more open with myself. Last year I put $75 on a cabin at Blue Water camp grounds, but I cancelled it in fear of it would bring those days I never want to go through again. This year I'm going come hell or high water. It's been 3 years now. He was my dad, my best friend, and my kids were only 2 when he passed. But they still talk about Pappy!!! My apologies for saying I never fished Erie. Definitely out of line, when others know damn well better. Pap
  10. Fishkiller is spot on give her at least 30-40 feet. To allow the leadcore to do its miracles.
  11. For eyes, my spoons would be Michigan stingers like you said after 3 fish there silver LOL, so this year I'm going to be runnung PowerDive's spoons awesome looking spoons, my own tied extreme slow deaths at higher speeds for that reaction bite, Bomber Long A's in black, silver and blue, silver. off the riggers 100ft or more, the best three colors for me in j13's is fluorescent orange, brown trout, fire tiger. i make all my own worm rigs with a #5 Colorado blades, and the old Indian hatchet blades, this season will be my first time fishing the eastern basin of Erie, I have fished the western basin for 5 years then then the port Clinton, Sandusky area all with great results. I hope this year will be as good.
  12. Looks like Chris and you got thing going on!! Good deal,he helped me out a lot last year. He's that guy that knows a lake near buy if you get blown off Erie you can fish this lake, said it saved his ass many of times. Good luck to ya!!! Mike

      shinintimes

Hello Mike .. With a 6 hour drive pulling the boat I wont be going until the forecast is one foot or less all        weekend !! Its not like the 80s when we just went and got screwed and spent the day carp fishing lol

  13. First welcome aboard tlr426, in my conversation I'm referring to speed over land. Once I start to fish deeper than 30ft I'll use a probe, I just got the 2nd gen of the hawk, just speed and temp. Would love to have Smart Troll, but I'll run this as it was given to me. Good luck this season, and tight lines to all.
  14. Sid, Justin and I lost our dogs not to long ago so we have an idea of what your going through, like Justin mentioned it's hard but be patient, my brother in law is a over the road trucker for Roadway he is home today and I'll see him over the holiday. I'll get back to ya!! PAP
  15. I would do that Justin, but every year I took a charter out on Erie they fish harneses with a #5 hammered "gold" blade, and the eastern guys praise the harneses also, but one thing differant is most guys run the hatchet blade. I never had any luck with the hatchet blades. After the spawn till about the third week of June I switch to stick baits and spoon, with a #5 blade you can run 2.5mph then I run a mix of 2 1/4" spoons and super slims. Last year I had good luck with R&R tackle, Rocker spoons, for as looks they are about the most unorthodox lure I ever saw, they do catch eyes. The orange with black dots, and the frog colors just plane catch fish. Everything has a place and a time. Good luck this year. With your charter business. I hope you have a successful year. PAP!!

    Boat for parts

Does anyone need or know someone who needs or wants the Crome rails and windshields, wing windows off a 1981 BAHA Carrea around 24fter. PM me for price. If not its headed to the landfill so if you know someone's in need of this hurry up. I was going to put this out there sooner, but it just didn't go that way. PAP.
  17. Well last year 3 hours into the start of the eye season, I was getting ready to leave the one area, I throttled her up almost on plane when she just sat back down in the water, to make a long story short, I blew the lower unit. So I bought another boat for parts. Well today I removed the front light from the boat, I was unable to pull more than a foot of cable I thought it would be just 2 heavy wires, not having much luck with the rest of the boat, motor, blocks cracked, manifolds cracked, getting ready to haul it to the dump I decided to pull the front light off, well to my surprise it has 6 little wires not 2 big ones. I bring the light in the house and look it up on the net and to my surprise the the damn light lists for between $750 and $1100 dollars!!!! Apparently this light is remote controlled, great I just pulled a big NO-BRAINER, this light is 100,000 candlepower AND can turn in any position you want it to. Beforehand I threw all the crap into the cuddy, now I need to find the wire harnes and locate the remote. Needless to say it was no picnic the wires were run under the materials that cover the top and sides. I did get the wires and remote, but I need a new remote. I found one for $75.00 and I will be putting it on the boat. This was by far the best treasure found on this wreck, other than the newly rebuilt outdrive. Pretty cool!!!
  18. BURNIN DAYLIGHT, it's on my end for some reason the one iPad with the red cover on took its last dump!! LoL I tried it with another and all is well, but that kind of puts me in a bind, I was going to use that one IPad I'm seriously thinking about the Smart Troll. Damn I was going to use that one and keep this one for just this. The kids got new ones from Santa this year, they used these hard for four years, always something.
  19. Yea, I tried also, earlier I though it was the Internet as our power was out also, hopefully it gets figured out, never had these delemia's
  20. Thanks DJ. Every little piece of info is important to help make things easier to find a place to hang your hat at the end of a hard day of fishing. Those little details like fish cleaning and ice are important!! Thanks for sharing. . PAP.
