Thanks. One more bit of info. The bite is slow in the AM, seems to pick up around 11am, and after noon was the best bite.

Let me know how you do tomorrow.

MY KIND OF FISHING AT MY AGE I DON'T GET SOLID UNINTERUPTED SLEEP, GOT TO HIT THE HEAD ABOUT EVERY 2 HRS EVEN WITHOUT A PROSTRATE.  SO I FORCE MYSELF TO GET UP EARLY. :emoticon-0101-sadsmile:  DRIVING TIME TO BACELONA ABOUT 1 HR 45 MIN FROM MY HOUSE.  CERTAINLY IF THERE IS A BRIGHT MOON I HAVE FOUND WHAT YOUR SAYING TO BE TRUE QUITE OFTEN AS THE EYES ARE FEEDING AT NIGHT AND NEED TIME TO DIGEST THEIR CHOW.  THX AGAIN

I've never checked, but if the line is 9.5 miles as glowgetter says, I'd guess its it about 6-7 miles to Red Roof. That's the exact same boat I had prior to my Commander, I understand!

GOOD BOAT FOR 2 GUYS AS YOU KNOW IN 3 FOOTERS OR LESS IT CAN HANDLE 4'S IF YOUR SOMEWHAT SLOW AND CAREFUL BUT NOT MUCH FUN PRETTY WET TOO.  I CAN FISH 4 RODS EASY, FITS IN THE GARAGE PAID FOR AND EASY TO PULL. THX AGAIN PS: YOU SOUND LIKE A GOOD COMMANDER.   :emoticon-0100-smile:

As your headed west down the lake you will go past a building with a red roof, (this is a good spot to stop and try) then you will see some sort of a tower, and finally their is a campground you can't miss it. That camp ground is on the NY side of the state line, Just barley. I have a Lakemaster chip that shows the line clearly. Hope this helps.

THX A LOT THAT DOES HELP I HAVE A NAVIONICS CHIP SHOWS CANADIAN LINE,  I DON'T KNOW ABOUT PA LINE NEVER BEEN NEAR IT. HOW MANY MILES APPROX FROM BARCELONA TO RED ROOF AND PA LINE?  I'VE HEARD ABOUT THE RED ROOF SPOT BEFORE. MY BOAT IS 17.5 CRESTLINER RAPTOR W/115HP MERC. I REALLY DON'T TO DRIVE ANY FURTHER THEN I HAVE TOO TO FIND FISH.

Sorry about that, yes 45' to 55' deep water fish were close to bottom 40' and down.

THX, sorry about all the repeats it wouldn't submit and save so I kept clicking submit again again. i don't know if I lost my  internet connection or what? Probably.

  5. GENTLEMEN THIS WAS A RECORD RAINFALL AND COLD FRONT, COLD WATER IS HEAVIER THAN WARM WATER AND SINKS DOWN THROUGH THE WATER COLUMN AND REALLY SCREWS UP THE FISH AND MAKES THEM GO NEUTRAL IT'S MORE THAN A DIRTY WATER THING,  IT'S  SORTA LIKE SOMEONE THROWING A BUCKET OF COLD WATER ON US.  AS FAR AS I KNOW THAT MAKES MAN NOR BEAST HAPPY.  MY NORMAL RULE OF THUMB IS 3 DAYS AFTER A COLD FRONT WITH COLD RAIN.  IN THIS CASE I HOPE TO GO OUT THURSDAY THAT'S 4 DAYS FROM SATURDAY AND THEN WHO KNOWS?  ALTHOUGH IT'S ONLY MY 2 CENTS WORTH IT'S BASED ON YEARS AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WHERE I LEARNED THE HARD WAY AND WASTED A LOT OF TIME AND GAS MYSELF.

    TIGHT LINES

  6. ONEDIA LAKE:  I JUST GOT A REPORT FROM A FRIEND THAT WENT TO ONEDIA FOR A WEEK 2 FAMILES TWO BOATS GUYS THAT REALLY KNOW THE EAST END OF THE LAKE.  HE SAID IT WAS THE WORST WEEK OF FIUSHING IN 20 YEARS. LOTS OF FISH MARKS, LOT OF BAIT, MAYFLY HATCH GOING NUTS. THIS IS THE 2ND FRIEND OF MINE THAT WENT TO ONEIDA WITH SMILAR RESULTS AND THE SAME CONDITIONS AND  THESE GUYS ARE SERIOUS FISHERMEN.  THIS SOUNDS A LOT LIKE WHAT'S GOING ON IN ERIE THIS YEAR BUT I ALSO BELIEVE THE UNSTABLE WEATHER IS A CONTRIBUTOR TOO.

USGS Current Conditions for USGS 04213500 CATTARAUGUS CREEK AT GOWANDA NY

Looks like the Catt peaked yesterday at over 20,000 CFS! And an area between Gowanda and Springville got over 7 inches of rain in the past 72 hours. Nuts.............. back on July 11, she was running at 300 CFS.......

SHOULD THERE BE ANY DOUBT IF THE LORD MADE IT RAIN FOR 40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS THE WHOLE WORLD WOULD BE FLOODED!!! NO DOUBT IN MY MIND. HAVE A BLESSED DAY.  NOAH

Caught over forty sheephead in thirty foot off the Evans Bar using crabs. Largest was 28 inches. Five break offs, good fishing day, lots of action.

FUN FUN, REASONABLY LIGHT TACKLE I WOULD LIKE TO GET MY DAUGHTER AND GRAND SON INTO A DAY LIKE THAT.  LOT OF GOOD SHEEPHEAD RECEIPES ON YOUTUBE AND HOW TO CLEAN THEM SO THEY TASTE GOOD. I AM NOT KIDDING. I'VE EATEN A FEW SMALL ONE TASTED FINE JUST NOT MUCH MEAT ON THE SHOULDERS. MY BUDDY KEEPS A JUNK FISH COOLER ON THE BOAT AND FEEDS THOSE FISH WHOLE TO HIS LABS AND BEAGLES.  SHEEPHEAD BEST FIGHTER IN ERIE OTHER THAN A BIG MUSKY, CAT OR STURGEON. CLEANING A SHEEPHEAD IN THE CLEAN STATION WOULD GET ANYONE SOME MIGHT STANGE LOOKS. SORTA LIKE COOKING RATS! :emoticon-0102-bigsmile:

I met a guy at the fish cleaning station that said the dec wanted to clean his fish if they could examine them and take samples. The dec told him this is the best year for the bait fish in lake Erie. And he happened to have a nice catch, six to eight fish all 22 to 28 in. He said he launched out of sturgeon and I believe he came towards Buffalo because he said the ride back to sturgeon was tough.

Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Lake Erie United Mobile App

SOUNDS LIKE A REASONABLE EXPLA NTION ONLY OTHER THING I CAN THINK OF MAYBE THERE NOT WALLEYE MARKS BUT WHO KNOWS?
