  1. That’s a wrap for 2024! Found a solid bite in 70FOW off of Sunset Bay and took a two man limit from 4-6:30pm. While most reports indicate a stick and/or spoon bite. We took our fish on harnesses with a few on sticks. 8 color, 10 color and downriggers set at 60 and 65 did the work today. One for the memory books for sure. Absolutely beautiful out there this evening. See you in the springIMG_20240921_183546205_HDR.jpg

  2. Launched out of Sturgeon Point at 3:30p went almost straight out to 72 FOW and found an active school as well as some nice perch. Caught 2-3 eyes and 2-3 perch. Ran all harnesses and was back in around 5p. Will try to get out again this week and put a more honest effort on them!!

  3. Launched out of Buffalo planning to run to the catt, off Hamburg outboard died and couldn’t get it to stay runnning. Trolled back on the kicker and fished our way back. First time in a long time I didn’t boat a single eye. Did catch a good selection of drum. Took them on harnesses and sticks in 60 through 40 fow. 4. Launched on GI at 5am and fished between the catt and Dunkirk. 3 man limit by 1015am but kept fishing till noon. Fished 4 dispeys and 2 riggers. Mix of sticks and spoons on both. Sticks were hot early but spoons were the ticket as the sun got higher. Dispeys out fished riggers 3 to 1. Green / perch were best on sticks, purple / gold on spoons but everything was catching. Fish are everywhere in 70-90ft. Found some nice pockets and keep on them. Speed was 2.5-3.1 SOG, strong current from west to east. West to east seemed to do better. Fished 45ft-65ftdown, deeper as the morning progressed.

Great day on the water, 78 total miles.

  5. We tried to go last night freaking weather man screwed us big time it was supposed to be one foot or less light winds out of the North... However reality was 3 foot waves wind ripping out of the straight West. We mark some by the windmills we made it down to Hamburg make one Is pass and the crew turnd green.

  6. If anyone happens to find a TX-44 (may still have 10 colors attached to it) with a lock jaw I lost one yesterday off of Van Buren Point. Also lost a Offshore board (has my name and old phone number on it 716-677-0116). Would be great to get them back. Rough one yesterday :)

  7. Big fish Friday was blown out. We headed out this morning in less than desirable conditions. Hit two fish right away out in 70fow on 8 and 10 colors. We found a nice school around noon in 85FOW SW of Dunkirk Harbor. Picked up several more an nice 6lbr and lost a 10lb at the boat. Hit colors were purple/cooper harnesses and spoons. White harnesses brought our biggest fish. Landed 8+ Walleye and a nice perch. Rough day out there. Had we found those fish in 85 earlier I think we could have worked our way to a six fish box. Woulda, coulda, shoulda always next year. Be safe out there fellas and tight lines.

  8. Haven’t been out but a few times this year. Will be out this weekend fishing the Innovative Outdoors tournament. Should be interesting especially with how little I’ve fished this year. Hope everyone has been hooking up. I’ll post up reports and results.

  9. Moved some rods today. Landed at 27” but it only weighed 5lbs. Landed 10+ eyes today throwing back several 17’s, also took some smallies, several drum, and some white perch. A good day overall.

In 38 FOW near the round house we did snag something with one of the downriggers. Not sure what it was, I don’t recall seeing anything on the graph but……. It’s there and it’s not moving! We were able to clear it by driving back over it in the opposite direction. Did not expect that at all.

Did most of our work in 40FOW, downriggers, lead cores and long lines all tool fish. Lots of boats, sounds like some really good fish were weighed today. For the brief moments we flirted with the pack everyone seemed to be getting along.

Around 4:30p we were at the weigh station and some joker came barreling through with a rear flat on a Ford Raptor. Shortly after a fella in a Black Grand Cherokee came through looking for the Raptor. Not sure what the story was, anyone else see it or have any insight? IMG_5926.JPGIMG_0878.jpg

  10. Good luck to everyone fishing the derby! We’ll be trailering this year. Due to proximity and Sturgeon being closed we will likely be out of Buffalo most of the season. Hoping to get back to Sturgeon next year! I will post up my reports here and if anyone is interested in sharing please do the same. Tight lines!!

Headed out of Buffalo the AM and went to the line (52FOW), trolled for a few hours only moving rods on drum (one was a monster). Packed up and moved to 65 FOW off of sturgeon. Screen looked good for fish tight on the bottom. Managed 3 on a variety of sticks and harnesses with a few more drum mixed in. Definitely seems as though the place to be is SP, Catt, or Dunkirk.
