  1. Probably not a charter captain I would want to use. Gotta use your head.
  2. I believe that pack of boats will increase at least five fold on the weekend. Let the catching begin.
  3. About a 2 foot trough through the sand bar. Six boats out today. Head toward the park and start searching.
  4. It's cyclical. This is the worst I've seen it since the mid 80's. Time will tell.
  5. Both great ideas Jim. If we only had a politician with a vision to push it through. Could use some of King Andrews Buffalo billions money. Wish we could get the Erie County Federation of Sportsmen involved.
  6. Buffalo Harbor State Park is the closest alternative to Geneseo. Google map it for directions. https://parks.ny.gov/parks/191/details.aspx
  7. Sturgeon Point is not the only area to get perch. I do good out of Buffalo in the spring. Like anything else perch related, you just gotta find them. Don't worry about the weather forecast......it'll change ten times before Saturday.
  8. They're out there now. The trouble is trying to get to them.
  9. With this strong wind the lake level on our end is up quite a bit allowing the ice to push over the boom. So it is possible that it did not break. The areas in your pictures were totally ice free yesterday.
  10. They're certainly not in there big time. You might have been there at the right time. I went there at 2 pm and there were a few. Caught a dozen in a half hour. Lots of ice and garbage floating that you have to work around.
  11. I was there yesterday. Not one minnow to be seen.
  12. Well said Jim. Remember when the Southtowns Walleye club started? Their mission was to ban gill netting and support Lake Erie access. They were able to get rid of the gill netters but lake access never improved. The "black hole" of Albany sucks all our money to support the "sh?thole" called New York City.
  13. There is a difference between drift bags and trolling bags. Take Sherman's advice and call Amish Outfitters. Captain Frank will set you straight. I have been using his beefy bags for my 21' Trophy for 12 years. https://amishoutfitters.com/
  14. Umbrella net. Check out Fish USA. https://www.fishusa.com/product/Ranger-Umbrella-Drop-Net?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=NX_Shopping_PLA&utm_term=1100008796115&utm_content=Ranger Nets&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=NX_Shopping_PLA&utm_term=1100008796115&utm_content=Ranger Nets
  15. Like I said, spring time is best, water is too warm this time of year to support emeralds.
  16. That's the Union Ship Canal. Spring is the best time to dip them there.
  17. Well said Jimski. If she hasn't dropped her eggs yet, she's not gonna.
  18. My favorite size fish. Good goin'
  19. P Dog, you didn't start a peeing match. A troll hijacked your thread. Keep the reports coming. We all appreciate them!!!
  20. It's usually up and running by now. Don't know what's up with it.
  21. A dozen trips means you're a rookie. Learn how to fish the lake and you will catch fish. Erie is a top notch walleye, perch, bass, sheepshead etc.etc.etc. lake. Do you give up so easily on everything you do? I've been fishing Erie for over fifty years and learned alot on my own. As for this forum, there are many posts on here from knowledgeable fishermen giving detailed reports. Go back and read them and learn. Rant over!!! Not quite........you only joined the forum eleven hours ago....
  22. Trolling bags are the only way to go. Plates reduce the amount of thrust which can cause problems in windy conditions. Check out Amish Outfitters beefy bags. Have had mine for ten years and they are still going strong.
