We talked to NYSDEC Lake Erie Fish Manager Jason Robinson tonight at ELECBA Meeting all Dredging Permits are issued and Dredging will start around mid May!

Norm, Come Fish Lake Erie,a Cares Act funded program to promote Lake Erie Charter Fishing Captains will do a lot to put our great fishery on the map and finishing with a Economic Impact Study will show Erie & Chautauqua Counties they are missing the boat. We are working with $565,000.00 grant that can only promote Lake Erie Charter Fishing Captains that will show case our great fishery.

Opening Day Muskies started out fogged out early am.So.we got out at 9 am ,went North to 27ft middle off Lighthouse Point. Within 10 minutes we netted a scrappy 32"er.Not long after a 37" muskie.But took 3 more hours to finish the day with a chunky 44"er.Tried & True Wiley Muskie King Jr 5 1/2" produce again.Not many other boats North,never got a report on many boats that went South. This morning I blew a bearing on my boat trailer,so did not fish,limped home on 3 wheels.I did have a guy show me a 50" muskie picture that was caught around 10 am by the bridge.

North Basin around Long Point was 59 degrees.Bemis Bay was 64 degrees, but was Chemical Treated a couple days ago. Best walleye action was around edges of 20 ft hole South Basin jigging Sonic Blade baits in Firetiger color.

It is about 2 ft deep walking out toward wall then drops to 4 ft along the wall where emerald shiners are schooled up,waders!MOSTLY MUSKIES THX. WHAT TYPE AND LENGTH OF NET DO YOU NEED TO DIP THEM AND DO YOU NEED WADERS?

In November when water temperature gets below 50 degrees in Lake Erie the water temperature inside Buffalo Harbor is usually a couple degrees warmer and stacks up with emerald shiners bringing in walleye to feed.
Over by center gap on the inside drops from 15 ft to 30ft,perch stack up there in late November too.
