Yellowpike, I used to do something similar when fishing lake ontario for lakers. we attach to our canon ball a piece of stiff wire bent such that two "ears" hung approx. 18" below and to the sides of the canon ball. when trolling the wire ends would tick or drag bottom, lessening the chance of a cannonball getting snagged, which I have done and definitely don't recommend :(
kicking up the bottom definitely works on bottom hugging fish :)

My question is not how leadcore compares to other presentation methods, but rather about how different leadcore setups might produce when compared to one another

My experience with lead core is that the imparted lure action and distance away from the boat are the primary reasons it catches fish. My question... would a setup with 2-3 colors in combination with torpedo divers catch just as many deep fish in summer as a 7-10 color setup?
