Fyshon, you are right back around 3 years ago Canada and the US closed it borders and you could not enter Canadian waters with out calling and declaring in then they would give you a number to show if you got stopped, that ended when the US and Canada came to an agreement to allow crossing the border with out calling in as long as you did not make contact with shore. This is all together something different US boats can NOT enter Canadian water and Canadian boaters can not enter US waters period this is what the Canadian border patrol told us. this is all due to the corona virus.

    Copy that... Thank you

  2. We all know the US and Canada border is closed, but what dose that do for boating, can we run our boats in Canadian water drift in Canadian water with out touching shore. it seems there is a gray area a lot of different  opinions. We where on the upper Niagara river west side of Grand island ( that is 90% Canadian water ) we where running at about 30 mph  and the Canadian border boat stopped us (they where very nice and very polite) they told us the border was closed and that NO U.S. boats  could cross into Canadian water., running, or not. we talked for about 15 min. from how hot it was to fishing for bass and walleye, very nice guys. So the point is if your in that gray area and are not sure. this came right from them.  You CAN NOT cross into there water for any reason and that go's for the lakes ERIE and Ontario. that also means almost ALL of the west river is off limits.
Thank you for that update, I wasn't aware of that...

What a difference a day makes. Temp was 3-4 deg warmer today than yesterday and the bait and fish scattered. Took a while to get my limit. Sticks and harnesses.  55’ down on the riggers, and 7 color on the lead. Fished west of Van Buren point.

Thanks for the report...good luck out there !!

  4. My vessel is down for repairs so I haven’t been out in a while. Years past early July and warm temps I have done well around late evening leading up to sunset in 65FOW west of SP. run 5,6,7 colors and target the thermocline if it has setup. Tight lines, hope to be back out there soon!

Headed out of SP this morning. Not many of us out there, made one pass in about 60fow. Headed back to find another line to troll down and decided to call it. Took almost about 45mins to get from the line back to marina. 1 fish. Had a better screen further east, 2-4fters out of the west. Marked alot of fish top 30ft. however the one that ate was about 45' down on a dipsy. 71deg on top, 68deg 30' down before batteries died to fish hawk.

Thanks for the report, it was definitely rough out there today.!!

  6. Went out Thursday in AM. Fished north of SP. Saw a lot of small marks and a few decent ones. Trolled north with everything I had- dipsey rod, down rigger, planer boards, bottom bouncers with worm harnesses and sticks- ended up getting one short walleye. This is my first year fishing for walleye and yesterday was humbling. Makes me all the more determined to try again. Sounds like it's not just me but others have struggled too.
It's definitely not just you... The big migration hasn't gotten here yet. Keep trying

Fish are coming Boys...if yer not into traveling, you will have to wait some for the BIG migratory schools....i fished 7 days last week in the central basin...i knew fish were further west than our port, so we trailered as far west as Geneva to get on em good..trust me they are sometimes moving quick...we got some beauties..NY ports will light up soon enough...hey, but don't be afraid to spend a little time and money in Ohio...good people out there

10 4 on that, we were thinking about getting an out of state Ohio license but at the time with the Covi-19er they weren't giving them out.. but I definitely want to do that. We actually have a relative in OH that loves to fish.!!

  8. Sorry you didn’t find them in Barcelona Fyshon.  I drove the 120 miles to Dunkirk today and managed to get there a little after 5:00. Fishing was slow but steady for me. Went 8/11 and kept my 6. All fish came west of Van Buren  point in 60’.  No pattern.  Half on harnesses and half on plugs.  Two on the rigger, two on the wire dipsey and the rest on the lead core set at 6 color.
Thank you for your report.. I only drove about 60 miles, so I'm really happy you got some fish !! That's a long ride for you.. congrats on the limit !!

  9. Fished 5hrs out of Barcelona this morning. Riggers, leadcore, bottom bouncers and cheaters. We ran spoons, harnesses and sticks, from 40ft to 65ft. Absolutely nothing, never saw a net in the water. Talked to a local retrieving at the dock and he said that he didn't catch anything either... It's getting pretty bad in the eastern basin this year...
