We run sticks on the riggers but don't bring em out till beginning of August when were in more than 60 fow. We've done pretty good and have never gotten a double. Hope that helps.

I agree 100%. We all share the same passion and any help we can provide to each other should be done.  There are RECORD amounts of walleye in the lake, we should help each other!

I’m planning my first ever trip to Erie around the 2nd weekend in August.  Mostly interested in Walleye, but wouldn’t mind fishing for some smallmouth either. First off, not positive even where I want to go out from.  From what I’ve read, anywhere along the eastern shore should be ok that time of year, so open to anywhere between Erie and Buffalo.  Any recommendations on where to launch and places to stay would also be much appreciated.  
I mostly fish Lake Ontario, so I’m all setup for trolling, which I assume is the preferred method?

Good luck to all launching or retrieving from the SBH. Just pulled out and we waited in line for 20 mins just to dock.

Fantastic Fishing-Horrible catching. Started at 6am till 1200. marked a lot of fish, but didnt catch nothing. Tried mono dipseys, boards and nothing made em bite bht we marked up like crazy. Nice day to be on the water, just s littke disappointed.

Saturday was good. Sunday not too hot for us. Moving now, we'll see

Leaving early in the morning and have never been. Not in the derby but hoping to get a fill of eaters-I here there's better fishing in Dunkirk. Will report!

Just off water and ended up with 2 eyes and a sheepshead. We tried everything

Trolling, bottom bouncing, jigging
All different speeds and lure sizes and colors. Barely any luck.
Fishing was good but the catching not so much.

Just off the water out of SBH. Too windy to go outside the break wall so we just fished the lighthouse in about 20-30fow and caught one 18 inch walleye

Hope all are well ... Heading out for the first time this year Friday morning. Looking for walleye near the windmills or in the river. Can anybody help me with any recent hotspots and/or tactics that have been successful?

Just got off of erie out of sturgeon point. Caught 5 walleye and one bass in just under 2 hours.
The wind was just bearable in our 17ft boat. Started to pick up. Trolling in 10ft out in front of 18 mile creek. All on Hot n Tots

I have a question - wondering if anyone else has had this happen - or a mechanic my be able to provide some information.
I have a Grady White Volvo engine - boat starts up no problem - idles 15 / 20 seconds and completely stops. Try to start again - wont start. Open the engine cover and I think I smelled the odor of gas.
I appreciate any ones help - the season is just starting and I am still at the dock.

Does everyone troll right behind the boat with a gas motor or do u need electric when fish are 15-25 ft deep
