Here's a question for you guys, when night fishing Erie, what if any lighting do you use on your boat besides the standard nautical navigation lights?
Hand held flashlights and headlamps

Water temperatures are now like August this year without ice. Start at 85 foot from the Catt to the PA line. Any where from 65 to deeper should. Find big walleye feeding on smelt schools, small perch and other good sized feeders. Going too deep you may run into 0 oxygen waters with
No
Fish at all.

Hi,
New to LEU and my first post. Fished out of Buffalo in the morning yesterday. Could only mge 2 walleye and some sheep heads. Best walleye came on 3 color core on side planner with #9 jointed rapala. Did catch a 13lb channel cat on a bottom bouncing worm harness that surprised the heck out of me. This is my first year fishing out on Erie. Usually fishing Ontario for salmon out of Rochester. I'll be watching these reports to try and learn how to consistently catch walleye.
One question I had- do you guys catch walleye all through the summer out of Buffalo or do you have to go south to find deeper water?
Thanks,
Bob
The fish are in an around buffalo up until late July when you have to move out to the line and troll towards sturgeon.

If you do run multiple different divers on one side-ex a 10 and a 20 then run the 20 closet to boat and 10 farther away so that the 10 will pass over the 20 and limit tangles

When we run harnesses behind leadcore we will get lots of hits but no takers then we reel up and the worm is gone. Should we slow down or what can we do to increase hook ups??

You can always use the Dunkirk buoy for a thermocline base and see where to drop the riggers if you want to get into some Lakers

We trolled along the windmills near smokes creek from 8:15-11:30 ended with 5 nice walleye and 2 bass (which we threw back) fog got pretty thick but we had a steady bite once we found the pod. 1.5-1.8 in 5-10 fow.
