  1. I spent a lot of time doing research 3 years ago before buying my new boat....And YES I bought it NEW and don't care about the depreciation!. I went with the Crestliner 2050 "Authority". She has a Merc 200 Verado, 10HP Merc Pro Kicker & the biggest Minn Kota I-pilot /lync combo. got the full canopy kit and set it up right. High gunwales all the way around. has a step thru transom where the swim platform form is. it is an awesome fishing boat for Erie & the fingerlakes....but one of the kickers for my decision was that it is an awesome family boat as well. we have 6 grand children. with the high gunwales, almost impossible for them to fall out, but when they are done swimming or tubing, they can easily climb back in all by themselves...youngest is 6.   I totally LOVE this boat, fell in love at first sight (after doing my research)...Have had her for 3 years now and couldn't be happier. I'd recommend taking a look at one. She is SEXY & trailers real nice too. I swear to GOD. almost every single time I take it out of the barn, someone comments on what an awesome boat it is

  2. Fished west of the Catt today, caught 23 in less than 4 hours. 82 fow, found a real nice class of 22" or 23" fish. No real big guys but only 2 of the 18 we kept were less than 18" and their swim bladders were out so we kept them. They were legal but only about 16 or 17 inches.   All sticks and spoons, put one harness out and after two hours of no hits I pulled it and put a spoon on.  Dipsies on 3 out 215' were good, riggers down 75 to 80 feet caught a bunch and dipsies on 1 out 165' were ok. I can't remember exactly what caught but here is pretty good guess.
Copper and orange spoon on a dipsey out 215' on 3, very much like a chicken wing spoon was MVP for sure, probably got 7 or 8 fish on that and all were over 20".
Crushed sea corral Bay Rat and a gold back purple and white NK28 on the two riggers probably caught the next most.  Fluttering them was working almost 75% of the time.  Riggers combined for maybe 10 fish total.
Bay Rats in purple, fire tiger Bay Rat, and rainbow trout made up the rest.
Another awesome day, I am quickly gravitating more and more toward spoons. I have been very lucky to get two or three man limits 5 or 6 times in the last month or so and a lot of those fish came on spoons. Good luck to those going tomorrow.

Hey totally hooked...you putting any meat on yer spoons? Or clean?

Hey rvan...I did put together a crew. Leaving from Cohocton & either going to barcelona, catt or dunkirk. A buddy is going to barcelona. Got into quality size fish. Guess I will sleep on it & see where my crew wants to go..you should drop me some contact info via pm (cell). It's not always easy finding someone to go when you can..good luck

I fished solo most of the summer. It can really be challenging,I really kind of enjoy it.Yesterday I switched things up a bit and went to Ontario.Fat 10 lber.can be a handful but not as much as a 30lb king especially with a dipsey rod with long lead pulling a flasher fly.I really had my hands full.Hope you find a net man good luck.

Yup...just pulled a crew together..kinda pschyed, a best buddy who has yet to fish on Ten Percent and his new girlfriend..hope she can handle the BIG water...guess I'd better grab some more Bonine..NO Pukers...lol..good luck tomoro All you walleye whores

  7. Pequod..I do like the lures. Can't Say We Had A Stellar Day By Any means..Think It's Still Early For Prime Time. ..did manage 2 small lakers & prob 8 or 9 smallies on the jigs..no perch on em today..got some perch on other stuff...no big ones though..very surprised no nice perch deep as we found plenty of bait..just lakers and smallies on the bait we fished.

  8. Yeah I know!!. Guess I've been lucky..only fished Erie for perch the last 2 springs...limits almost every time..pretty tough to beat the kind of fishing we had...and plenty of slobs...Seneca is not what it used to be..seems true for most fish species..something going on that has yet to be fully understood..1 thing you can always count on is change I guess..gonna give my new thunder mist stingnose jigs a try for deep water perch tomoro..tight lines
