  1. Fished Waverly on Monday.  There was a decent amount of bait and suspended fish.  I primarily bottom bounce but kept marking bait and suspended fish so I took one bouncer off and used an inline trolling sinker  directly behind the boat and started catching fish.  No boards, jets, or dispsys.  I venture someone with the right gear could of done much better.

  2. You can find 4 oz and up bottom bouncers online.  Jannsnetcraft.com is an example.  I too prefer the braid, 10lb power pro works for me.  I run the braid to my bouncer, than run a flourcarbon worm harness of typically 4' to 5'.  Some of my buddies go shorter.  The linecountesr aren't necessary but can help you stay consistent, especially if you have friends on the boat.  Also they are nice to have for other methods of fishing.  I run 7' casting rods off the sides and any length that I can center off the back of the boat.

Overthelimit said it first.  Most of these fish are males still hanging around the spawning area.  They will start heading out to reefs, like the Rockpiles, Seneca, and Meyers.  Which ever one has the most bait is the key.  If the bait is at the windmills then they will be back.   Also, we're talking about our local stock from the eastern end.  Good Luck!
