I'm going to Silver Lake for Crappie on Sunday and let Lake Erie clear up a little!

Never really got into crappie fishing, a few friends hit chautauqua for em. Last weekend I heard they were biting. Almost went but wanted the salt to wash off the roads a bit more before I trailered that far.

Dropping logic lol, I've run out of hooks to replace and line to spool. Don't want to mow the yard yet so might just have to make a trip to fishusa and grab some new lures. See some newer glow rats just came out. Just want to get her in the water. Maybe have to try some perch Sunday morning, or get the boat slimmed by some Lakers.

  3. Blowing like crazy, forecast has 10-13ft waves till midnight... 1-3 tomorrow... ughh hope it's only 3's. Looks like Sundays going to be better. Anyone planning on hitting it tomorrow with the lakes current status?

Thanks Jeff, glad you said something about a update. Have to get that done tonight. Longest stretch the boat hasn't got wet. Keep having to buy more lures to get my fix!

  5. Picked this unit up on sale at cabelas a few weeks back. 400 off and got 100 cabelas cash to boot for buying it. Anyone have as tips or tricks to this unit? Do you use structure scan while trolling? Big step up from my old hummingbird. It appears the first trip on the water will be learning all the featres and settings. Hope to find that viking vessel full of gold to buy a bigger boat!

  6. The clarion motel is right next to the dunkirk launch. Not bad prices and a decent hotel and good parking for boats. Someone else may know for sure but I almost believe they have their own docks. A lounge bar area and a on site restaurant are a bonus in my book. Dunkirk is a decent spot to go. Your in the middle of two great spots for walleye and perch. If you can't find a bite their, the Cattaraugus river outlet/sunset bay and Barcelona are not far of a trip on the water. Usually you can find some good fish between em. Hope ya make it up and enjoy the water!

  7. My buddy uses those wilderness rods. They are pretty cheap at under 20 a peice from fish usa and have a few models to choose from. I buy the cabelas depthmasters when they are on sale and been using them for years without issues. From 10 color to downrigger.
