Launched at the catt and fished a couple miles west. Fished 75-84ft, 2 man limit by 9:30. Down riggers & dipseys with a mix of spoons and cranks. Cranks produced a little better, no color in particular. Speed was 2.4 -3mph. Fish are mostly 60ft and deeper, down riggers were set at 62ft and 68ft.

Yea, I do it quite often. Days when it's calm, of course. Fast than trailering most the time. Today was just under an hour ride in the boat. You launched on Grand Island and drove by boat past the Catt ?

Launched on GI at 5am and fished between the catt and Dunkirk. 3 man limit by 1015am but kept fishing till noon. Fished 4 dispeys and 2 riggers. Mix of sticks and spoons on both. Sticks were hot early but spoons were the ticket as the sun got higher. Dispeys out fished riggers 3 to 1. Green / perch were best on sticks, purple / gold on spoons but everything was catching. Fish are everywhere in 70-90ft. Found some nice pockets and keep on them. Speed was 2.5-3.1 SOG, strong current from west to east. West to east seemed to do better. Fished 45ft-65ftdown, deeper as the morning progressed.
Great day on the water, 78 total miles.

Normally around 30-50ft depending on depth. Deeper you can normally get away with less.

Been a while since I post on here but haven't been fishing much this year.
Fished out of buffalo yesterday noon to 7pm, tough fishing with wind/waves. Finished with 10 and one 29.5 inches. Couldnt weight in yet because everything was closed. Fished cranks and harness, both did about the same. Fish seem scattered scattered but seem best around 30-40ft. A lot of throwback, a dozen or so. Heading to Dunkirk today.

Same program as last time this morning 8:30am to noon. 4 walleye all from bottom bouncers with harnesses. Not even a hit on boards (was running 6 with harnesses).

Wished the windmills yesterday 5/23, 6pm to 830pm. Harnesses on two bottom bouncers, 4 planer boards set at various depths with harnesses. Speed was 1.2-1.5 and all rods caught fish. Finished with 8 decent size walleye, 2 bass. 30-38ft of water.

I have never had any luck fishing walleye out of Buffalo in winter. Tried a couple times last year. Perch is a different story.

I'll be heading out shortly. Fished the windmills for 2 hours on Wednesday with no luck. Moved behind the breakwall and got 9 in 3 hours, along with a laker.

Yes many times. We troll the shallows with sticks out until you can feel them bouncing off the rocks. Then bring them in slightly so they are not getting snagged up. Speed plays a big part, generally anywhere from 2-3mph. You just need to pay attention, on a good night there can be a 100 boats out there in a small area going back and forth. Bright green and orange always work well for us.

Well with everything going on in world, we can look forward to the walleye opener next Saturday. What is everyone's plan if the weather plays nice? Water temp was between 41-42 yesterday outside of buffalo. Big change from last year, dodging ice. For myself I am going to grab some perch during the day and take part in the Hamurg 500 for walleye at night.
