  1. Hey Pap, no real shake down here, my boats ready 24/7, I fish all year long .Nice thing about having an outboard

on an 18' semi V jon boat. Worst case is a month between trips due to work or stupid ice(stupid ice is not safe enough to ice fish on, and to much of a pain when I break it up with the boat ).

I also have a serious condition, its called "next", when a season is out or the bites not hot on a particular species ,

I move on to the "next" species.  Theres always something.

  2. I have not fished Erie, unfortunately, almost did last year, but its on my plate this year.

Most of my walleye and perch have been on the St Lawrence, Lake Ontario(oswego) ,

Susquehanna River in PA. , and various lakes .

I'm looking forward to the reports as well,it will really help guys like us get a little closer to the mark when were not from the area and have limited time on the Lake Erie.

  3. I would like to add ive caught multiple species casting and retrieving , but my prefered method is jigging with these,

in deep water. If you dont use braid ,you will have a hard time not only detecting light strikes ,but also feeling the action of

the lure, and if youve picked up debris(zebra mussel) or if the trebles tangled on the decent, which will stop the action.

  4. Ive used the flouro 8lb test for fishing perch and walleye , jigging, trolling, and also the 30,50lb test for lady o trolling

I personally like it better than red label, in the  8lb.which ive used quite a bit of. The 30 and 50 lb have worked well ,and have not had break offs at the knot or week spots.  This is all leader material im refering to.

The metered braid backing I just started using late last year so jury is still out. But has worked well for turning

short copper into longer copper, on in-line boards and knowing how much line youve let out past the copper.
