Check out muddy Creek tackle.com . A lot better quality. I have traxtech. I'm slowly switching to muddy creek. Better and less money. Tell them Captain Crabbie sent you.

Target mostly adults. Catch and release mostly. We keep only the damaged ones for the smoker

We fished Olcott Sunday. Went way west water was very muddy. Found a small pocket of good water that had fish. Enough rain already. Going again this weekend. Going to fish outside the mud line. Marked fish out there but didn't have my down riggers and lead cores

Fish hawk hands down. Great tool on Ontario for chasing Kings and steelheads. Still new to Erie chasing"eyes". Not that big of a issue on Erie

Not a big fan of boards. Walleye are not a lot of fun to reel in. The bigger the board the heavier the rod. You're going to find out in a hurry that you don't have enough reels. Snap weights are fine. We use a lot of them on both big lakes. Four ounce is are cut off then we switch to lead lines. Five colors and ten then add snap weights as needed. Ten color and heavy snap weights will sink most boards. The big boards will stay afloat but pull like crap the bigger the waves the worst it gets. Just keep it simple at first. Get a couple 10 or 12 foot dipsey rods for the side 2 standard size for out the back and have fun.

Lots of rattling on traxtech adjustable downrigger bases. Thumb screws keep coming loose if you don't tighten them with pliers.
