How Deep Can someone tell me how deep 300' of 8 strand copper will take me?
Totally depends how fast you will be going. Believe it is close to 60' at 2.5mph.

old school trick tie a 5 gallon bucket off cleat & run off back of boat in addition to bags will slow you down more. Just down forget to bring in bucket before you power up!
And cut few 1" holes in bottom of bucket first, way easier to get back in and out of water. Or another or bigger bags.

Really no different than any other electronics these days, what happens when your phone, TV, ect doesn't work. New one, not profitable to fix or make parts for. Especially by time they break.

Try the 50/50 method. Let out 50 ft. Snap on weight and let out another50 ft. Use the precision trolling app

DOing the 50/50 will leave a big V in your line being much easier to get tangled with other lines, debris in water, ect.

I use both, you will find some times they want a long lead, sometimes not. That's what is nice about the light bites, any length lead can be achieved. But have heard great things about Chinooks also. Will be getting couple of the bigger ones for deep

Chamberlain's are best releases made, in my opinion. They have two adjustments different from Blacks one. You don't drag around fish with Chamberlain's, when set correctly.

That is exactly how I run Weighted Steel, similar to copper. Not as apt to kink.
