After watching a nasty lightning show from the doc this morning in Dunkirk, we managed to get a 2 man limit of eyes in 5 hrs. Tried out at 105 FOW where spoons worked the day before, but 85 FOW was the magic number today. Any color bay rat was the best. Wasn't out long enough for the eclipse. The fish probably thought what I did. Just another cloud.

Shorter leads have been working for us also. I have also noticed outside lines on turns have been catching fish, so I've increased my speed. But still haven't had much luck on sticks. A new harness I've been testing has been golden for me.

Yellow pike was with me and hooked a 12 lb steelie that played possum up to the boat then blew 3 ft out of the water jumped over a dipseys line came back to slash under engine. Maniac fish. Lost at outstretched net.

Sitting in our slip in Barcelona.harbor drinking scotch.. Fished from 2_7p.m. caught 10 small keepers. Lots of shorts were released. 85FOW was best. 60 ft down, all worm harnesses. Good day with my wife. Hope the a.m. bite is good.

Fished again 7_11:30a.m. Caught 4 good eyes. Lost 2 big ones at motor. @$#! But landed a 17# laker. Barcelona is loaded with eyes. You just have to work hard to keep all the shorts from hitching a ride. A big thanks to my wife for steering in not so calm water.

Fished the Catt. all day yesterday on a friends boat. Went to my numbers where we did well 2 days ago. Only got 2 good eyes. Tried everything 60_85FOW. Fish, and bait were scattered all over. No big schools. It's been a strange year. Between the weather, and the unpredictable bite it has been hit, and miss.

Another strange day on Erie. Fished the catt. Started off slow, but really turned on later in the day. Caught 10 good eyes. (No shorts) and 2 monster Lakers suspended at 50 in 80 FOW. That's a first for me off the catt. They were revived, and released unharmed. My wife having a blast priceless.

I had my sites on Dunkirk for the morning, but I heard the lake flipped out there. Can anyone tell me if it's worth it to try? My second choice would be the Catt. Or maybe SP. Thanks!

That's a good idea, I'm sure any vinyl graphics sign place close to you will be able to do the job, that's what I did for my boats name,worked well,better than paint, very affordable also 

I have a friend who does vinyl graphics. Maybe I'll have a bunch made for members. I just don't know about copy rights. I have seen it used for other things, so it's a possibility.

Where could I purchase a LEU walleye logo for my boat. It's a pretty cool logo. It would be nice if all our members had one on there boats. Maybe it could be part of the give away.

Yesterday I just drifted with the wind,today I set electric trolling motor at .8 mph GPS over bottom and went with the waves.4 eyes were in 6 to 7 lb class,4 eyes 3 to 4 lb class and 2 were 16 inches.

Alright let's put this to rest. Thought it was a brown at first, because of the spots, but as you could see the mouth is black, and it has a slight fork in the tail which you couldn't see in the first pic. When the DEC (young girl, probably an intern) said it was a king I said ok its a king. Well the truth was in the meat. It was orange. I'm calling it a brown. Memorable none the less. I guess I need to get out for cold water species more often.

Fished Barcelona yesterday afternoon, and this morning. Tons of smalls all over. Went out deep 95_120 FOW in an attempt to avoid them. Ended up with 9 decent eyes, and a 8# king. A fun fight that was. Enjoyed some rare calm Erie weather. Other than driving through a tornado on the way home, a very good trip.

Barcelona bite was on fire Monday afternoon. Caught at least 50 eyes. East of harbor in 70FOW. Everything was working, but green harnesses on the dipsys worked the best. A lot of smalls, but we kept a good limit, and got 6 more tuesday morning before the NE wind came. Thought I was fishing in the early 90s again.
