Nice morning out of the catt. Looks like nobody wants to put their boats away just yet ..best walleye bite I've seen in the 32 years I have been fishing Erie ..ya they aren't all slobs but there are lots of different age class fish and that is a good thing..might have to postpone the first couple weeks of bow season
X2 today

Big difference between surface temp and temp at certain depths especially before mixing of the water goes on

It will be interesting to see how this front coming in changes things for the weekend. Might be a hide and seek mission

Had a similar situation on Sodus Bay a few years ago on opening day of bass season. I broke down and I ended up rowing the boat in after the trolling motor killed the battery. Not one person stopped. Boats all over. Way to help out lineman

Thought this might perk some interest.

I like to do the s move if traffic allows it gets lures moving faster and slower to see what is best

Water temp
Any one got a water temp report either north or south basin
-
Try getting the speed down a bit and sounds like the old release over marks and let rise through the column has been productive

Seems to me that water column sets up a little different than Ontario. Bait fish is another key.

Lakers
Anybody specifically targeting Lakers out there. I hear a few being caught walleye fishing but is the fishery good enough to run a program specific spread

The vibrax took the first hit of the morning Saturday. Good rip in 80ft. The leader broke 6inches behind the dipsey. Overall good day Saturday on harnesses and one on a rapala between Dunkirk and Barcelona

Dunkirk as well

That's what I've been tinkering with too. Different spoon type baits with worm trailer. I know plenty of guys run stickbaits with a crawler

Would expect that probably the catt launch will be most effected by the recent rains. Possibly debris. Any one got any reports of any issues at any of the launches. Most are protected harbors

Its like playing the mad scientist andsometimes you come up with something that works awesome and other times just a pile of broken lures.

Harnesses
I took some blue fox vibraxes and turned them into worm harnesses. Has anyone else tried this and had any luck. Hoping to get out soon to try them.

Sometimes check the clevis on the blade. I have seen cheaper ones fray line. A little tuning can fix them most of time. Also I done pretty good with plastic ones that can change blades out. Also there are varying quality there. But can be nice to change colors and style like Colorado to Willow blades with out swapping full harnesses out
