  1. I get a kick from all you guys. Dipseys, lead core, wire. All of you must be meat fishermen. There is no fight using all of the above. It’s like bringing in a boot. I enjoy bottom bouncing with with a light medium action spinning rod feeling the fight. And I’ll out fish those with the heavy weight equipment. Have have enough walleye in my freezer. Was out today, stopped at six then fish for perch with my seven foot micro rod. Ended up with 2 dozen. Could have caught a lot more. Bite was heavy.

All effective methods. As long as everyone enjoys what they do, its all good.

  2. Went out today, wife and I put 10 in the box. Ran 8 and 9 color lead, fished 68 - 75, most fish caught right at 70. Also most marks. We marked a lot of perch fishing for 4 hours, and couldn't keep them off the harnesses. We boated 9 and kept 5 nice ones. They also robbed worms, which sucks when you see their bouncy hits on the rod then nothing, and you haul in 8 colors of lead to check.
I agree with you guys on divers, I've also had a tough time getting them to trip, and thats a workout hauling them in when they won't. I quit using them and work on perfecting my leadcore fishing. If you don't think you lead is getting down to the bottom let out more backing until you hit fish, noting on your line counter how much you had out and get it there each time. I found today that trolling at 1.2 - 1.4 also helped me to bounce bottom.

  4. Was out there today...same area, depth. Running 6 color lead and harnesses. Had 6 in an hour but on that 6th the wife put hook into her thumb..in through the top nail partly out on the fleshy side. She was to chicken to let me remove it...so went to ER and they did same thing I would have done. But I didn't have a tetanus shot available..;) ER doc did comment that my snell knot was superb.

  5. I agree with Randy. Last week we killed them using 6 - 7 color, in 60 ft, fish were close to the bottom. Week later (yesterday) we started the same, couldn't buy a bite. Finder showed marks at 35-45, over 60. Switched up to 4 and 5 and increased speed from 1.2 to 1.7 and we had walleye for supper. Saw guys coming in with limits some with a couple. Some figured it out, some did not. Not really stupid easy.

  6. Wife and I out this AM from 7:30 - 10:30, boxed 10 nice ones and tossed 4 back. Also 5 nice perch and a huge smallie who dragged 7 color of lead to the surface to leap three times..lol. Harnesses only, 7 color lead in 60-65 ft, trolling 1.2 - 1.5. Lake was bumpy at first but eventually laid right down. Fun morning. We went staight out and fished east.
