This is the Town of Evans supervisors position on Sturgeon Point Marina.

There is a public meeting next Wednesday, April 21st at 6pm.

We need boaters and anglers to come out and support the opening of the marina. Let's pack the place and make it happen.

Sturgeon Point is the only harbor for safe refuge between the Small Boat Harbor in Buffalo and the marine facilities (not
a harbor and not safe in severe conditions) at the Cattaraugus Creek, so it is very important for mariner’s safety for it to
be available. Examples of port to port mileage along New York waters:
North East, PA to Barcelona, NY 10.5 miles
Barcelona, NY to Dunkirk, NY 15 miles
Dunkirk, NY to Buffalo, NY 30 miles

If Sturgeon Point is operational, the distance is cut nearly in half.
Dunkirk, NY to Sturgeon, NY 18 miles
Sturgeon, NY to Buffalo, NY 12 miles

The elimination of Sturgeon Point Launch & Marina significantly reduces the emergency response on Lake Erie.
Emergency response teams will be forced to travel further to launch and attend to situations on the lake.

Boated 45 out of Dunkirk today mostly 18-22 inchers did manage two over 9lbs lost a couple other big fish at the boat “rookies on the rods” all in all a good day

That’s a king no question about it, I’ve caught 100’s of Atlantic’s in lakes in the Adirondacks over the years that is NO Atlantic, it’s a 2 year old king

Boxed 20 lost 5 from 7 till noon at the fence in 50-55 nothing under 18 inches one was around 30” another 28” lost another big fish at the boat

Ended up with 8 between sturgeon and 18 mile 50-58 fow 2-7 color leads

Fish Barcelona Thursday-Sunday during the con-club derby. Honestly lost count as to how many fish we boated my best guess was near 100, caught fish from 85-135 feet of water best 9 gave us 67.13lbs good enough for 3rd overall. Fish ranged from 14inches to 31" every fish came on sticks
