  1. Was out yesterday caught our 3 man limit. 6:30-12:00. we ran 4 dipsy’s with harnesses. I Don’t like using down riggers. I believe the cable hum makes them skiddish. the fish were from 60-85 (bottom) fow.  Don’t be afraid to run your dipsy’s farther back than what the charts say. Hot color was copper and watermelon run on a #2 setting 220’ back on a calibrated counter.  Also we were getting some short strikes early in the morning so we started hooking the trailer hook an inch from the end of the worm.

CHALLENGER 3 D WORM HARNESS $5.99 EACH AT CABELA'S, FISH USA.

Not sure what they cost at captain bobs Because I make my own but I try to buy what I can from him instead of the big chain stores. I like my money staying local.  And his prices are usually the same if not cheaper.

Fished west of the Catt - would have been a shorter run from Dunkirk actually. Got our 18 fish limit in two and a half hours plus some throw backs we got while clearing rods. All on sticks, Bay Rats and Renoskys. Color didn’t matter. Fished from 75 to 90 fow primarily 40 to 60 down. Speed was 2.0 to 2.2 at the ball.

    Here is what we used:
    10 color
    9 color
    8 color
    8 color
2 - riggers at 62’ down with sticks caught 6
    2 - dioseys, one set at 2 back150’ and one at 1 1/2 back 130’. Dipseys caught 4 fish.
    Leadcore caught the rest.

Great temp break down around 55 to 65 feet. When we hit that 60 degree water it was on.

Back at it tomorrow if weather holds. Tight lines all.

Very similar results as well. Started with harnesses on dipsy’s.  By the time we were done had sticks on everything.

All dipseys should be set at three to send them out farther from your boats track. That is where the fish flee when you pass over them with your boat. You can set them out a lot of deeper and farther on that setting.

I fish with four dipsy’s. The outsides I run on 3’s and insides on a 1 and catch just as many on the insides as I do the outsides. When they’re down 45’ and deeper I don’t think they scatter like they do when they’re up higher in the water column

Ran a 10 color lead with 30 feet of mono 15 lb with worm harness. When I pulled the line the mono seemed stretched and twisted. Any advice on what's best for leaders and lb

Use a “Luhr Jensen Les Davis Plastic Rudder”.   Prevents the line from twisting. Attach to your main line and run a leader to your harness or spoon. You’ll never have a problem again. Can find them on Fish USA

Went northwestish  67’ to 70’ kind of between the harbor and Evangola. Fish were only in certain areas. When your on them non stop fish on the graph. When the marks drop off we’d turn around and run back through them . I ran 4  dipsy’s with harnesses. Ran the outsides on  a 2 1/2. 170’ back and the insides were on a 1 130’ back.

Nice! Did you launch next to us the first time or second time, haha. Had to pull the boat the first time after the motor wouldn’t tilt down, to figure out the trim tilt issue.

I had never specifically targeted Lakers so I figured run the old Lake O gear and we’d be good. Hahaha. Live and learn! Was a great day to be out there.

The first. As I backed away you were pulling the cowl of the motor. I said to my buddy that’s not a good sign 😒. Glad you were able to get it fixed and out.  Yes it’s  been a great year. Caught our 3 man walleye limit yesterday. Five of the fish were 5+ lbs. got a 4 man limit today in 3 hrs
